Hey guys,

Thanks for all the great feedback on my preview. It means the world to me coming from the Elder Scrolls community. If you have any questions or want me to clarify anything, find me @DaveOshry on Twitter or send an email to Dave@RipTen.com.

One of the best Skyrim previews that I have read so far! Thanks. :goodjob:

The part about terminating the opponents, by burning the oil on the ground, (by fire spell, or by shooting the lantern down), was awesome.

Can't wait to test environmental interactions like that.

Edit:

Strange to think that the epic Golden Claw quest would come from a loser such as Sven!!!
Well, it doesn't.

It comes from the inn keeper, the brother of the gal that Sven loves.

What :o i thaught that quest with the false love letter was that the bosmer wanted that girl and sven was the lucky one,and the bosmer was the one you can help send a false letter

both of them make you send a false letter actually

You can also tell the girl that they're both douches and show her the letters, but no one has taken that route yet, apparently.

That's just one of the part's I was pleased read, I hope there's more like wooden barrels filled with oil.

Lol, I love how people are complaining about spoilers and this post is in the Cheats, Hints and Spoilers section of the forum..

On topic though, the article was amazing! I'm so excited! We are SO close now, yay!

Honestly, that was truly one of the funniest/informative/ and straight up entertaining articles i've read about skyrim. LOVED IT

CANNOT WAIT, 11 DAYS!! :intergalactic:

This. Dave has a fantastic sense of humour and makes the previews a lot more gripping to read.
His article has increased my *need* levels for Skyrim even more :foodndrink:

That was an amazing read, and very informative too! Thanks a lot! Too bad M'aiq doesn't talk much right away. :P But you did a lot of stuff there, and you really made some good choices to get to know the game.

Enough about the graphics already Moonwalker. He didn't say anything about the graphics because what's left to say?

Easy now friend, i was only curious on what his take/opinion was on it, that's all. After the negativity that was shocking to me, i wanted to know.

Sorry, Moonwalker. He's mentioned that the graphics were beautiful in other previews before. He probably didn't feel like repeating it.

Ok that's great, thing that keeps worrying me is...how amazing it looks in the videos we've all seen that they released on the internet. And how some people now are saying Bethesda probably compressed the textures in a way that it looks bad, judging by the 'other' footage. I just hope that's not the case. I hope what we saw in the videos and what these previewers/reviewers played is what we're all getting on november 11.

No, they were saying the footage was compressed because of recording, re-recording, etc. on youtube so it lowered the quality and gave the textures a blocky look.

Man I love Oshry. His previews are by far my favorite ones. If i remember correctly, he was the one to give us some great details in the first round of playthroughs. He knows his stuff and does a really good job of making everything interesting.

I'm assuming that that was the shield spell. What else could it be?

Oakflesh turns your flesh into... oak. Which gives you increased armor for... 40 seconds I believe it was, or it gave you 40 more armor. Anyway, something 40.

While I loved the article I'm sorry for Oshry that he had to endure the same quests as everyone else. I was really hoping he would experience something totally different so I could read his wonderful writing about a new story.

He's also the only writer that I've read so far that deserves the different experince

Thanks for the link. I am disappointed there are no PC screens to be had in the numerous pages of Ripten's site. Beth is being very tight with not allowing any PC shots to be posted at all, I personally would love to see some NOW. I mean, it is close enough to the release date anyway, so why not.

Uhh. Screenshots that exist are a mix of pc/ps3/360. It's the demos that are xbox exclusive. The other videos and footage could be pc or ps3. Screenshots for sure are a mixture. Confirmed by Pete Hines.

The screens I used were from a combination of assets and stills from the various videos. Mostly 360 I'm sure.
