LOL, congrats. ;)

Awesome read, thanks for the post! Still can't describe how happy I am for M'aiq living another 200 years (lucky basterd). Lol

Glad people are enjoying reading this hands-on, I was in two minds on whether or not to post it as I wasn't too sure how Ripten were viewed on here.

I haven't read 8 pages since... Maybe middle school? That was a good read though.

Thanks, I'm betting the companions are immortal during this early build to help the PCs in their playthrough, but who knows. Either way I can't wait to play this game, it sounds awesome. :celebration:
I'm betting that you can be companions with essential characters. that's probably what happened. seems incredibly exploitable though.

Companions are immortal? YES! :celebration:

pretty sure they were invincible for the hands on. People who have the game said they die, very easily in fact. You can even tell a town the person died to send out a recovery group. Otherwise theres no reason to give them better armor if theyre immortal.

This writer thinks he's being really clever. I can see right through him. He's not the only one who's read Bukowski.

He should develop his own voice and not rip off alcoholic poets.
I'm willing to bet he is quoting George Thoroughgood's One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer.

One of the best previews so far, by far.
This...

Best Skyrim preview so far IMO.

Very entertaining read.
...and this.

Edit: How do I put a spoiler tag?
It's in the "Other styles" drop down above the text box.

LOL i totally cracked up at the part where he said "To the College of winterhold!"

And the next page showed just how freaking far winterhold was, and a FML to top it off xD

Just a warning, that article's full of spoilers.
It is? Not to anyone who's been around these forums for a while. Very minor spoilers at best.

Huzzah! Companions are immortal.
Maybe. Other reviews companions die. Time will tell. I hope they are immortal, it would make up for only having one companion at a time where in fallout new vegas you could have several but they were mortal.

This writer thinks he's being really clever. I can see right through him. He's not the only one who's read Bukowski.

Not sure why your ripping on this guy. This is probably one of the best reviews I've seen the guy was entertaining yet informative and had desire to cover new ground at least instead of doing stupid crap and regurgitating the same info like 99% of the reviews do.

Yeah, I stopped reading at one lying khajit.
Your loss. Spoilers are non existent unless your a noob.

I can not believe no one has really said anything about m'aiq. all these threads speculating if he would be in the game or not, but no one really seems surprised about it. lol.
Maiq was confirmed about a month ago, old news doesn't make much noise.

I think both reviews are correct. I believe that specific companions are immortal. But 'hirelings' and perhaps even spouses are 'mortal.'

Perhaps I'm just hoping... I want my general companions to be mortal.

I was pleased to see that also, for me "yes men companions" were kind of boring, a bit of a disagreement makes things more interesting.

Yeah, i'd say though that maybe if they like you more, or you have a high level of personality* that they will do stuff for you that they dont nessessarly "want to do".
