No it's not. I'd rather find out what's going on when I get the game. I already know more about it than I want...which is very little. I've done a pretty good job so far of avoiding too many spoilers while visiting the Skyrim forums, I'm not going to change that now.

even if they're essential, it doesn't mean the game becomes very easy. consider this:

if the companion is essential but his opponent is very strong what do you think will happen?
at most the companion serves as a way for you to gain time to run away or use him as a decoy.
being immortal doesn't make a companion stronger, it makes him more useful for other tactics.

This preview was annoying to read since at the start he promised not to dike about and do what every other reviewer did (including himself previously) and still ended up doing the exact same thing. :facepalm:

Plus he should've carriage'd to Winterhold and thus giving us some decent info instead of "ooh I got smushed by a giant"

Rant over.

On the bright side he gave us info on companions... That'll I never use... :cryvaultboy:
