Next Dragon Age Will be a Skyrim clone

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 6:29 pm

How about making a Dragon Age game for Dragon Age: Origins fans? They failed at making one for Call of Duty fans, and now they want to make one for Skyrim fans...
They can't do that! Dragon Age: Origins was obviously not a big enough hit. It only sold, like, 3.2 million copies by February 2010. If that type of game really had any kind of market, it would have sold 3.20001 copies by then.

Well some people said Diablo 2 was too draconian.
Diablo 3's DRM is draconian. :P

Sounds like they're gonna make the game a lot simpler.

I'd be interested in seeing this, as well. They may have gained experience from SW:TOR, so it might turn out fairly well.

Yeah, take another franchise that was great (err... had one amazing game and a bad sequel) and ruin it by making it an MMO.

If Bioware does make DA3 like Skyrim with multiplayer, I expect the reaction of most of the fanbase to be something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aJd922EOuk

I just want to see it crash and burn. BioWare are beyond redemption in my eyes.

People blowing things way out of proportion on the internet as usual. All they said is they like Skyrim and may borrow some ideas from it. Bethesda have said similar things about Bioware games in the past. So what?

I look forward to it being an open world game. I dislike closed world games, even some of my old favorites, I find them hard to play these days.

Why can't they just go back to how they did things in Origins? They keep talking about appealing to their DA2 fans, but honestly, how many of those are there?

If I want to play Skyrim, I'll play Skyrim. But Origins was a nice break from Oblivion.

If they clean up their act, I might buy or rent the next DA game. It's a good thing they're looking at Skyrim for inspiration though. c:

It's not that bad. They messed up one game, maybe two, depending on if you liked or disliked the changes made to Mass Effect. Saying they should burn is a bit out there. The truth is, they are still putting out better games than the average developer. Let's see how they handle three before they are beyond redemption, eh?

I'm not a huge fan of Mass Effect 2 but it's alright. Dragon Age 2 is IMO the only genuinely bad game they've made so far, hardly enough for me to ignore everything else they do from now on. Though obviously I'm going to be more cautious, no day one purchases.
