Post » Fri Sep 20, 2013 5:18 pm

Ya, i never realized i typed free agent. I knew he retired and that is what i meant to type lo.

Everyone thought the packers having no O line would get anywhere last year....

I wonder what Joe Flacco is going to do with his new team, considering the Ravens are getting rid of all their good players to deal with his cap number. Way to go Joe.

He's making Brees and Brady money now, so he better start slinging it like Brees and Brady, with sub-par defenses and a less than rounded out core of wide receivers.

What the hell is Baltimore doing to their roster?

Also, as usual Dallas is doing nothing...

The only place Mark Sanchez is a real NFL QB is in a fantasy.

They are losing everybody because Joe Flacco is greedy and thinks he is worth a ton of money when in reality he is just an average QB.

Not necessarily a bad thing. I don't think they are looking for much in the Free Agency. I'd say that they are most likely going to get a few cheap veterans. Perhaps on either line or safety. I could also see a RB, but I think they're going to wait for the draft. They're sitting too close to the cap right now do really do much anyways (at least until they either sign Romo to an extension or sign Spencer to an extension or both).

And as usual??? Dallas has done a lot in free agency in the past decade. I can't remember a year that has been this quiet for them. I am actually enjoying the peace.

I read an article somewhere that says the Ravens roster moves aren't so much about money, as they are about finally making this John Harbaugh's team. As long as Ray Lewis was around it was his team. Now that he is gone they have also gotten rid of most of the other older outspoken vets: Boldin, diquerd, possibly Reed; and they wouldn't be surprised to see Suggs go next year when his cap number hit will be greatly reduced.

I will see if I can find it again.

'Bout time the Lions get a decent RB. Reggie Bush had a nice season last year. I figured Detroit would go get a free agent and I was expecting Steven Jackson but Atlanta stole him.

I'm so upset Jake Long didn't even get a work out for Detroit. Would love to see my old high school friend back in Michigan.

You stay up all night thinking of that one /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

But seriously, there is a lot of talent getting moved around this off season. I think alot of teams have improved in some way. The only people I'm really confused about are the Jets. It's seems like they don't know what they're doing. I have a feeling that the blame will eventually fall back on Rex Ryan, regardless of how loopy the QB situation is there.

Probably gearing up to tank the season to get the #1 overall pick next year so they can get a legitimate QB. Speaking of recent moves, how do you feel about Romo's extension Schnakers?

Well, it is something that needed to be done. Honestly I think that he deserved to get paid, maybe not as much as he did though. As much as I may not always like Romo, he is the only reason that they are ever in contention. Would I find hilarious out of this whole deal is McNabb overreacting. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-total-access/0ap2000000155080/McNabb-defends-his-tweet-about-Romo.

The important thing is it opens up cap space I guess.

I think Dallas blundered. I mean the contract is one thing, but all the guaranteed money. /shakehead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':shakehead:' />

Just heard of him below. It probably wasn't a good idea for him to go to Detroit. (Unless he had no other team to go.) But atleast he's been spared from the Rex Ryan the clown owned circuss known as the Jets.

Known about him for awhile now. I was interested to see where he'd end up going.

Really? It really svcks he had to go to a team with one of the most prolific offenses in the league; a team where he'd get the most chances to prove himself as a legitimate NFL kicker. /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

He's still got to beat out Akers though, so it's no guarantee we will even see him this year.

Prolific offense? They really only have a decent quarterback and a great reciever. The rest are either below average at best or just plain out svck. Their defence is also subpar at best. I do hope that this guy had a long and successful career in the NFL. I just think that he may not be in a winning team in Detroit unless the GM or owner reorganize the franchise into a winning powerhouse.

Though if David Aker continues to play like he did last season, there's no doubt that the Norweigan will take the starting role.

There is nothing wrong with the Lions offense. You say that they only have a decent QB and a decent WR, but really, that's all they need. Calvin Johnson had the best season a WR has ever had in the league in terms of yards last season. Couple that with the fact that they had issues at RB that they addressed by signing Reggie Bush this offseason and they are all of a sudden a team that has some interesting pieces. As for the defense? Average, not subpar but not great. Do I think the Lions will make the playoffs? No. But that is because they are in the NFC North. Put them in ANY division in the AFC and they'd make the playoffs in at least a wild card game.

Anywho, I'm liking the http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000162620/article/jacksonville-jaguars-unveil-their-new-team-uniforms. I especially like how the helmet changes colors from the front and fades to the back.

The only play worthy of a mention in terms when it comes to the lions is, Calvin johnson. There is no one else.

I will agree on the nfc north part.

For any person who thinks that the Nfc North is not the hardest division to play in, needs to really open up their eyes.. Packers used to just dominate that division. Now they have to work for it.

Meh, the Lions have a pretty good offense. Stafford is an above average QB and if I were in charge of starting up a team, I would take him over at least 26 other QB's that are starting right now (that especially includes Joe Flacco).

I do not think the NFC North is the hardest division to play in. That award belongs to the NFC West. The 49ers were a few plays away from winning the Super Bowl last year and they've only added more players that will make them better and better. The Seahawks are doing the same thing. They added so many players that have great skill like Percy Harvin, Michael Bennett, and Cliff Avril. I think the Seahawks will be the most brutal team to play this season. The Rams are a special case because of what they are doing. They remind me of the 1990s Cowboys. The Cowboys traded Herschel Walker to the Vikings for a ton of the players that allowed them to create the dynasty they had. The Rams got a ton of first round draft picks for trading down to the Redskins last year and it will give Jeff Fischer a great chance to build the team into something special. Also remember the Rams were 4-1-1 in divisional games last season so they can compete. The only other team that leaves is the Cardinals. I have nothing good to say about them. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

The NFC North is a sloppy division. Each team can win but they always seem to find a way to muck it up. Ask the Bears about that last season. They started 7-2 then went on to lose 4 of the last 6 and be left out of the playoffs at 10-6.

Lions sling it, and that kind of offense is prolific in today's league. They had a regression last year, yes, but in 2011 they were right behind the Saints as the best offense in the league. Matthew Stafford threw for 4,967 yards last year...only 4 QBs have ever thrown for 5,000 yards, and he's either passed that or gotten very close in 2 back to back seasons now. They had a problem with injuries on the offensive side, and the inability to punch the ball into the redzone, which is basically from a lack of a running game (due to injuries).

Alot of teams sling it today. Packers. Lions. Brees. Patriots to just name a few. You either have to throw it or you get left behind. That is what it has come down to.

Also, injuries do not always mean anything.. Remember that the 2010 packers played in the superbowl with 17 injuries and then lost woodson and shields if i remember. All comes down to how focused are you going to stay.
