Normal difficulty is a joke.

What is the hardest setting like? I play most of my games on the hardest settings.

How have they done it - is it just loads of hitpoints for the NPC's or do they (and you) hit harder so it becomes more realistic?

Um.

Are you complaining because we no longer have to stand in one spot in the wilderness jumping up and down and fireballing trees to even start the game? Because that was annoying. Yay, I just started the game, let me play it- NOPE, gotta go kill 75 mudcrabs to level my sword up to 6 first... >.>
I am not one to defend Oblivion's leveling style for skills. But it was a bit harder then just throwing fire at trees to level up destruction per say. Example: I had to find a way to continuously take my HP down to heal myself to get decent restoration skill. I coudn't just stand around rehealing myself over and over if I was already topped off. Yes Oblivion had some bad mechanics, But I suspect Skyrim is more also to the original way we played Morrowind. Where you had to use something to gain skill. Which on that point I agree with part of your post.

Im playing the game right now on normal difficulty and im absolutely pwning all enemy's, the game really has become casual.

guess im going to turn up the difficulty :toughninja:

You simply lose all merit when you use the term "pwning" as an adjective. Disgusting.

Try taking on a frost troll or a giant.

See how easy it is then.

It's just the start. Wait till you reach higher levels.
While most games should become more challenging as you progress, this kind of game should do the opposite. It should be incredibly difficult early on when your character is weak and poor... then become easier as you progress and become more powerful.

Turn the difficulty up then, that's what the difficulty settings are there for.

The obvious escapes some people.

?

The OP's complaint is that normal difficulty is too easy...and then you say the game looks very hard. What are you trying to say?

*confused*

um so what stops the OP from turning difficulty to the highest?Because if you find a game TOO easy, you play with max difficulty and problem is solved.

If I want a challenge I have Angry Birds to play.

Thanks for the heads up I'll just start the game at a more difficult setting then, when I get it.

As always, this sort of thing can be fixed with game mods which is how I think Bethesda designs their games, to be fixed later.
I am used to the pattern by now.
I still enjoy em but that is the way of Bethesda. In a month or so post the creative kit release I'm sure some creative and skilled modders will
be working to make the game more of a challange for the hard core.

For the rest of us, there is Angry Birds.

Hey, don't knock it.

Don't listen to this moron. I've been playing for two days and normal is actually pretty hard unless you keep running into skeevers and bandits. A giant hit me once and I seriously flew into the air like a rocket. I haven't died this much since Morrowind. There are so many different areas where the enemies are way stronger than you are. Even at level 14 I'm still having a hard time when I stray too far.

I found the hardest difficulty on Deus Ex Human Revolution to be a walk in the park with a poodle to boot, so you tell me.

Alright tough guy... I died so many times when I first bought it. Running into a random cave with a crap sword and not being able to even hit anyone, until I got the mechanics down it was pretty hard.

I don't see how anyone can really defend this. Normal difficulty is meant to be normal, there are two difficulty levels below it, and two above it. :sadvaultboy:

He's obviously trolling. Trying to make it look like Bethesda is catering to the casual crowd.
