He's obviously trolling. Trying to make it look like Bethesda is catering to the casual crowd.

And im not 'trolling'. Im just telling how i feel about the normal difficulty so that experienced players woulk know they should turn up the diff. early in the game.

Does turning it up give enemies more health, or only adjust damage?

well it's kinda obvious normal is easy if you are an rpg fan.Don't know why OP even bothered with the thread.I bet Bethesda actually listened the fans and did difficulty right, but most people are too scared to play with higher difficulty slides so they blame normal for being too easy

The problem is that it's subjective. Which makes it not particularly useful information.

For "l33t h4rdk0r3 g4m3rZ", Normal is probably trivial. For other people, it might not be.

(The OP even said - the last game he played was Dark Souls. Compared to that, of course "Normal" in a Beth game is nothing.)

You just solved your problem, there was no need to post a thread about it.

I would love to see you go try and fight [censored] on oblivion with the dificulty cranked up to max late in the game. I have the strongest weapons and skills without glitching and their health still regens so fast i cant kill anything in less than 15-30 minutes, if i kill it at all.....

OP is a genius.

I have a similar problem. The low graphics on Skyrim aren't very good. I am going to go into my options menu and turn them up to High or maybe Ultra. Just wanted to share this pro-tip to all you noobs out there. Also click the Skyrim icon in Steam to launch the game. Those two tips are for free. The rest will cost you. PM for my paypal account.

The post quality in this forum has met a sharp downfall these last few hours, think its time to bust out a "farewell thread" :violin:

The game is pretty much out, and a lot of newbies are coming in; you've gotta expect threads like this.

On Topic: If you don't like it OP just turn up the difficulty. We have those options for a reason.

Is the difficulty adjusted by a slider again? I always found that strange.

Maybe not for everybody. For me it's relevant because he wrote that the last game he played was Dark Souls, which happens to be the last one I played, too. Can't expect him to be able to compare to every single other game out there, can we :)

Exactly like I expected. Of course normal difficulty is for the average joe, not for an experienced gamer.
Shouldn't that describe Easy? Normal sounds like it should be for the average-experienced gamer. Hard should be for the hardcoe who like some pain.

From what I have seen, low level gameplay is pretty good and challenging...likely due to the amount of playtesting it received, but it kind of falls apart when players reach the mid to upper levels. At level 40 or so, with just a one handed weapon....a reasonably optimal character can demolish dragons and boss type enemies with ease...by ease I mean 5 - 10 seconds or less of slashing....not even taking into account that two handed and dual wield would deal much more damage....and there are still over 20 more levels for players to gain.

I mean, the game is great and all....but I don't see the point in having an easy and very easy difficulty if normal is already easy enough. Difficulty should have been labeled easy (adept), normal (expert) and hard (master) as I can't possibly imagine what the two difficulty settings below normal are like.
