So now that Europe...

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 11:30 pm

has blown the release date out of the water, what are we supposed to do here in the US considering that for the next 2 days we will be flooded with streams, spoilers, and tons of various other media from those who got the game early? I know the default response will be "don't use the internet" but yeah..no that's not going to happen for the next 3 days...Should Bethesda drop the 11/11 release date now and just allow the rest of the vendors who followed the rules to go ahead and ship? What do you guys think?

What are you talking about? The release date is 11.11.11, you're not getting the game earlier unless you're a reviewer. But if you live in Europe, then a global release date is ALWAYS 1/4 day earlier than in the US.

The only thing that has blown things out of the water is the OP, it is not like everyone in Europe is casually buying Skyrim from stores. If your worried about people posting spoilers... I think you are about a week or so late for that one.

Plenty of people have the game earlier than they should have. And what is with the constant use of '/thread'? Allow everyone to voice their opinions before you suddenly decree the thread must be closed.

I've only seen people from the Netherlands get it first. No one else who's proved they have it has shown to be anywhere else that I've seen?

You expected to get the game on 11.11. Nothing has changed for you. I wish people would let go of their petty jealousy and just...chill.

Stores are closed atm in the Netherlands.

You're all forgetting about Steam too. At least the PC version is no use.

The chain stores sell it on the release date, but in smalller chain stores (2 or 3 stores only) they sell the games when they get it delivered because when no one is complaining about them, nobody is watching over them
btw. sorry for my crap english I hope you can understand^^

Have you ever been at elementary school ?
Do you even know where Europe is on a map,and do you know it's a continent and not a country ?

Skyrim is released in 11/11/11.

Well yeah I'm from the Netherlands and i got my game earlier. Not sure yet if I can do anything with it since its the PC version. However, I don't see the OP's problem since if the game were released everywhere on 11.11.11 there would still be spoilers on OP's first day of playing. Also, be happy for us Dutchies since we usually get games half a week after you guys get it.

No spoilers seen, except for the first 23 minutes. Not really a spoiler though.

I guess you'll have to just stay away from the spoilers board and trust the mods to keep this one clean

Just bought my copy of the game for xbox 360 at a GameMania store in the centre of Amsterdam !
I was quite surprised, as I walked in to pre-order, to find it was already on sale.
"They started selling it yesterday" the girl behind the counter said.
Apart from the GameMania stores, it's also available at the Bart Smit chain - but not Dixons or Intertoys, for some reason.

We've already discussed this in numerous threads already, and Pete Hines have himself confirmed that the game IS NOT COMING OUT until the proper date. If the game stores violate that NDA, then they are going to get sued by Bethesda.

I can wait a couple more days. We've bought a bottle of mead and have taken Friday off from work. It's not just playing the game but the whole Midnight release ritual that I'm looking forward to.
