El Maco is very good. Good sauce, good beaf, good vegetables. It's a burger that isn't dry and in a good way.

Zip's burger, but I doubt anyone who isn't from Cincinnati or Covington knows what it is.

Whataburger is probably the best burgers I've ever had, and they're a fast food chain.

As far as chains go, I like both Burger King and McDonalds,

You think what you get in mcdonalds burgers is meat? lol...

My homemade burgers are the best... a pita stuffed with chicken + salad + hollondaise sauce + seasoning. It's so good it doesn't even matter that it's not really a burger.

As for commercial burgers, I like the KFC Zinger. Haven't had one in years, though.

There's a gas station around here that makes one of the best burgers I've had. Kinda ironic since it's placed between 2 different burger chains but I always go to the gas station. :P

For all I know it's roadkill, but as long as it tastes good and doesn't give me food poisoning I don't really care.

It's 100% animal! Even if it is "100% of the bits that aren't meat".

Best? My BBQ, that I make myself.

Carl's Jr for fast food. No clue about fancier places because I refuse to pay $12-18 for a hamburger.

I've tried In-N-Out and for my tastebuds, they're a little above McDonalds. It's not that they're bad - they do a very basic cheese/burger ok I guess -but they're definitely not for me.

Not relevant to the OP, if you don't like meat that's fine but please if you are going to go off topic do it elsewhere.

You think we all arn't aware that Macca's food is filled with preservatives and cosmic radiation? We all know that. Doesnt mean that it can't taste nice or be enjoyable.

The best burgers around here come from my local take-away. Takes em about 5 mins to make your burger after you order it, but it's well worth the wait. They always use really nice meat from the butchers next door and are particularly generous with things like bacon :D

If I don't feel like spending a ridiculous amount for a decent burger. Five Guys.

If I have money to spend. Red Robin. Their sauteed mushroom burger is delicious.

5 Guys has a great burger.

No. Their fries are what they are known for. Not their greasy burgers.

Best burger I ever had in the US, Port Of Call in New Orleans (That was some time ago, though).

Best burger I ever had, period, of all places, a stand outside the ITESM in Monterrey, NL, Mexico.

There's a place just up my street (Ultimatum, Nordre Fasanvej, Copenhagen) that does a wonderful mexi-burger. Thick beef, pink in the middle, guacamole and salsa, red onions, good bun. Huge fries with it.

Still, if I have time (and cash) I can make a burger that beats it. This involves all the above - minus guacamole - plus bacon, blue cheese and a fried egg.

I like to mix a little ground black pepper in with my burger meat, but otherwise I totally agree with what's already been said: don't fill the burger patty itself with all kinds of wierd stuff.
