One Burger to Rule Them All!

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 3:37 pm

Burger King, nothing I love more than a Double-Whopper

Funny thing is, I used to think I liked Bugger King's burgers but I never actually enjoyed them. It still mystifies me as to why it took me so long to reconcile the expectation with the reality.

You're probably right. Darn advertisers, being so persuasive. They must also include subliminal messages saying "our burgers actually taste of beef and not snot" in order to raise those expectations.

I tried Five Guys and didn't have quite a good experience. The bacon seemed overcooked and the fries were a little soggy. It was my first time too, so I was looking forward to first impressions. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and say someone in the kitchen was having a bad day. Also, it didn't help that it was expensive as heck...
I had the same experience twice with them, and that was enough for me,

McMuffins surpass all burgers easily.

The best burger i've ever had though was one I made myself out in the woods.

"One Burger to rule them all,
And, with cheese, bind them" - why, the lettuce, chicken legs, onion rings and tomato, of course.

Although, I have a certain distaste for fast foods, an occasional home-cooked burger never hurts.

Dyer's Burgers in Memphis, TN and Wimpy's in Chicago. I believe Wimpy's is no longer open. But those two places beat out all other burgers I've ever eaten.

Bah, burgers made on an island in the middle of the ocean are so much better.

There's zero chance that any "best burger" is going to come from a chain.

They should strive for greater accuracy: I'm sure Advertising Standards should be on the case to ensure that they instead use the smell of stale sweat.

Not exactly a burger, but I've always enjoyed a good ol' steak sandwich.

The 75th St. Brewery makes a great Red, White, and Blue burger. It uses fried onion strings for the white, bleu cheese for the blue, and buffalo chicken sauce for the red.
All this talk of delicious burgers.....and here I am eating rice pudding out of a [censored] tin. Ha ha I have burgers in my freezer but am feeling lazy.

The Mcdonalds festive burger is the best damn burger ive ever had. its a discrace they only make em at xmas :swear:

Well the best one I had eating out was probably Wendy's, but the very best are the ones I make at home. Pieces of art they are.

Well I really like Chillis now, but the best ever for me was this place up in New York. A friend and I were looking around in some mall (maybe near the brooklyn bridge or manhattan bridge. wish I remembered) but in the mall they had a gag shop like spencers and a resturant too. The best burger I have ever eaten (most expensive too)

A place called Captain America's does amazing burgers. Dunno if this is the just the post-drinking hunger talking, but I could really do with a burger right now....

On the subject of burgers I wonder if in the states thehttp://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2012/03/is-pink-slime-in-the-beef-at-your-grocery-store/ (read: useless part of a cut that has no nutritional value, often has some types of disease, and is treated with ammonia and turned into dog food due to not being really edible) bothers any Americans here -- it's heavily used not only in supermarket beef but certainly in fast food as well.
