PATCH 2.03 IS OUT - 94MB

Post » Tue May 22, 2012 2:34 am

Can't really speak about the lag, wasn't an issue for me, but the pixelated puddle textures are still present in Windhelm. Going to start a new game and reinstall everything, see if it's still happening.

I'm downloading this patch now, but the sticky at the top raises a question. How long do you leave for the 'scripts to sort themselves out' before doing the 2nd save ? Do you have to move around a bit, do some fast travel, etc ?

Earlier it was suggested to "wait" for 73 hours in the game. Not real time... in game time.

Downloading, I'll load my 30+ level character, savefile well over 10MB, and see if it still hangs up on loading screens or gets framerate drops.

Bethesda, last chance.

Just remember to follow the directions given so you don't get a bad impression.

People hoping their bookshelves are fixed... man I wish I had those problems...

i used to have crippleing lag too and for some reason it lessened so much to the point i dont get it much but saying that my game crashed every hour guaranteed so it may just be my game crashed befor lag became an issue

I'm more worried about a lot of quests being broken, including the entire Dark Brotherhood sideline. Lag has been somewhat bad too (intermittent) but maybe the worst thing has been total system freezes, sometimes within 10 minutes of loading the game.

Glad your bookshelf is fixed though. I'll find out what isf any of my problems are fixed once they release this to North America.

Better still, maybe everyone could start their own separate thread describing their individual experiences? I think that would be really fun and helpful.

My save dropped from 12 to 8mb.. obviously haven't played much yet, but I've been skipping around the major cities and lag seems gone so far *knock on wood*.. hope it's out soon for the non-EU players so we can get more impressions.

Why would entire DB questline be glitched?

Earlier it was suggested to "wait" for 73 hours in the game. Not real time... in game time.

This was not in relation to scripts though, it was related to the cleanup process - furthermore, it was later proven to be ineffective since the cleanup process is only applied to cells as you visit them.

Scripts will sort themselves out as and when they are re-triggered, there will be no specific amount of time that fixes everything.

Am just booting up the patch now, will give some feedback from a TES modder's perspective ASAP.

It's a known issue I have seen several people with the same problem. At one point you need to get more contract kills from Nazir before continiung with the next purely DB quest, and Nazir won't hand any out and neither are there any active. He actually speaks to you as if you should already be on an assasination quest, but there isn't one.

Mine went down from 16 to 14 after Fast traveling all over the place. So far patch looks good.

This is what a mod suggested that we do after installing the patch, but if you think you know better then fine.

While patches are best on a new game, I would load your current save and see if the borked quests work. Some may not if the save got some bad data in it. The next best thing is to load a save from before you got the quest, not in the middle of it, and try it again.

Also, because of the game times, I would wait in place for 73 hours after loading any save so all the scripts have time to reset post patch. I don't think the 11 or 31 day waits are needed. It takes 10 days to respawn a dungeon, 30 days if it is marked clear, and 30 days for most mines and plants to refill.

Well my albeit anecdotal report is that the save file has dropped by 20% in size after waiting for 15 hours. Riften and Whiterun seem lag free.

Looking forward to seeing how everyone else gets on.

unfortunately the patch didn't resolve my gamebreaking bug in alduins wall/sky haven temple so I guess I have to wait another four months for the next big patch!
