Noticed so far:

Pros:

+) game runs smoother, but it's too early to say lag won't come back
+) mannequins, weapon racks and plagues seem to work "better", but they still seem to be a little bit buggy
+) was able to become than of riften

Cons:
-) Some graphical issues: my aracane enchanter in markath is now blue; and my nightingale hood had no texture (after saving and loading it was rendered correctly again)
-) talked to a salesman and the tutorial on how to buy and sell staff came up again (not really an issue)
-) you can now activate all the weapon racks in Solitude, even the ones on the left and right. BUT unfortunately, once you put weapons on those, they are stuck und you can't retrieve them anymore
-) mannequins with equipment sometimes change their positions slightly (I don't know if that was the case before also, because my mannequins were inviseble anyway, once I put stuff on them)

I'd like to note, that I used my actual savegame for testing. So the cons might not be an issue, when starting a new game

2 weapon plaques in hijerim are now not working properly there the ones the wall that has the door to the housecarls bedroom when i try putting anything on those two the weapons just stick into the wall about a ft away this didnt happen before the patch as only my book shelves were broken but hey my mannequins are working and so are all my bookshelves its only two plaques tis a bit annoying though
reloading a save now to see if it dissapears as the ones in the enchanting room did the same
edit reload didnt work i have 5 broken plaques that is new but its only small i guess seeing as the rest works even the mannequins

For me nothing changed ... i explain :
For your information, my game file was at 26mb before the patch.
I started the game and patched it, then loaded the last save and made a new one right away (still 26mb...).
Then i quitted the game and restarted the PS3.
I started the game again, loaded my last new save.
I put some stuff in a chest as i was overloaded (i was in my whiterun house), then went out and surprise !!! the game still is lagging like hell, unplayable...
So i told myself maybe i didnt wait enough so i waited like 10 mins, even rested for 3 days and made a new save : file save is 25mb...
I quitted the game again and restarted my PS3, then restarted Skyrim and loaded that last save. And still the same, lagging like hell...
I did this 3 times nothing changed ... i think i won't be able to play again my lvl 52 / 292H play time ...

I've been bumbling about for a few hours now. Everything seems grand. Save file down to 9.5MB - so not an extreme size - and a very playable game.

Thus far, everything seems hunky-dory.

Played for a couple hours. Impressions:

1] Whiterun is still dodgy with framerates. Not as bad as before, but still, just what the hell is going on in that market section?

2] Ash pile next to ritual stone just outside of Whiterun. Been there for a long while, hasn't disappeared with patch 1.4. Or the two sabre cats and dead orc dude nearby. Will continue to play, maybe they'll be reset in ten hours or something.

3] Framerate jitters whenever I walk in the countryside, I don't think this will ever be fixed. Not game-breaking though.

4] STUPID DELAY when switching weapons is still there, makes combat even worse than it already is. I feel like I'm playing on Atari ST or something.

5] Shadows still flicker, but I think they look less blocky now. Just slightly less, they're still crap of course.

6] Foggy marsh bit outside of Whiterun is very laggy. Not looking forward to exploring misty caves...

But you want to know my overall impression? The magic is gone. It's been two months since I played this game, I've returned to it for two hours today and the magic has gone. Bethesda has ruined my experience, I just don't feel excited to be exploring Skyrim, everything feels like a chore, or even worse, like I'm stepping on thin ice that could break at any moment. I feel like I'm playing out of obligation, to just get the platinum trophy.

Sad times.

The sad truth is, even if they totally fixed the game the magic would still be gone for most of us...

Our first impression of this game was stress and headache. It's hard if not impossible to change that.

True man ^ Its not the epic mountain vistas which define an elder scrolls game, its the nuts and bolts of it... and in skyrim the nuts and bolts are rusty as hell.

Can't be bothered to quote everyone's posts, but in response to the previous posters...

I have 'Treasure Map IV' and there is still nothing at the location it describes

I also have a 'Treasure Hunters Note' that now only shows garbled text, cannot be removed from inventory and I have no idea which quest it relates to (bloody radiant system, lol)

I still get FPS drops in certain places - Helgen Caves, Deep Forests etc etc, but the overall experience is significantly better. The most noticable thing is the reduction in stuttering when walking around cities. Whiterun is nearly smooth now, previously I had 2-3 second 'hitches' when going up/down steps etc.

Ash piles of named characters do not 'clean-up', and arrow cleanup is dodgy at best.

Enemies still lose ownership of their weapons upon death, preventing them from cleaning up. I provided Bethesda with a fix for this, so here's hoping they implement it, or something similiar, in 1.5

All the tutorials came back for me as well - but I can live with that :)

Yeah, I went to sell some stuff in Whiterun and the tutorial box came up. Weird.

Enemies lose ownerships of weapons?

Speaking of that, I just got the disarm shout! Is it any good?

A simple question everyone; the Orcish Shield is a lot greener than the whole Orcish set. It doesn't match in the least bit. I can't remember if it's always been that way, or if it's changed thanks to the patch.

That won't happen every time you sell something will it?

No it only happened the first time I went to the store after downloading the patch. Haven't seen any other tutorial boxes so far.

Can anyone tell me if the Gildergreen issue (sapling would grow inside old tree) or the shadows issue (flickering/ characters foots would not cast shadow) have been fixed?

I'm not sure about the tree, it looks weird but most things in this game look weird so I can't confirm that for you.

Shadows are still crap, characters look like they're hovering above the ground, shadows flicker a lot. They don't look as jagged as before though.

Any word on the Battle for Fort Sungard glitch where no men to meet, and no enemies in castle?
