Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a Nuclear Wi

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 1:18 am

Primm wimped out and accepted NCR control. Some people will do anything to feel safe.

(I resent this one most of all because I went out of my way to find them a sheriff unaffiliated with any faction. Jerks.)

Thank you for telling me this a bajillion times. There are so many things in this game I have heard a bajillion times. what about you? Don't get me started on Johnny Guitar

Hey, Local. Shouldn't you be banging rocks together or something?

It's not like this is some new issue. Often-repeated canned dialog like that line above has been around since Fallout 3 and Oblivion.

I like how they complain about how hot it is while they warm themselves next to a flaming bucket.

Do you remember the child that fell off the deck last year?

Considering everyone speaks about this, it makes me wonder how many children fell off Rivet City's deck in the past year. :P
Kind of like Daggerfall's "Rescue my cousin" quest that I got 3 times in a row.

Yep, I stopped talking to the generic NPCs, seeing how they get very annoying saying the same sentences.

Not to mention people talking about mudcrabs in Oblivion. Jesus how many times do you need to tell your neighbors you hate mudcrabs before its enough?

"Let me aim that for ya next time."

Shut up Boone!!! Just shut up!! I am trying to snipe people here... and for your information, every time you are saying that you should aim that for me, implying I am somehow a bad shot, I am IN FACT hitting what I was aiming for!!!

Still, Boone wastes people like no tomorrow, so he's my follower 90% of the time.

Don't you know?
Obsidian made it, so it's perfect.

Actually, the game has made me kind of appreciate Bethesda even more in a twisted kind of a way. Just the fact that the Wasteland is lacking compared to FO3''s Wasteland reiterates the fact that they are so good (the best :D) at world building. It wasn't even their series and they did awesome with it.
To be fair to Obsidian, they usually don't use these kinds of game worlds, as it is a lot different to the Turn-based Fallout that they're used to. And it shows.

Veronica: hope it's a new dress!
Boone(but to a less extent): Fine by me, but there is one real irritating phrase from him, just after my character gets a perfect crit to someones head, Boone "Let me aim that for you next time"; someone in the dialogue department messed up there.

Don't you know? If he's not shooting, no one can.

"I heard someone's been inside the Lucky 38."

That was me! Oh wait.. You can't hear me."

Or this one "Weren't you the one who saved President Kimball?"
I hear that one way too much. But who doesn't love a little praise? :celebration:

I thought they did an awesome job, though I agree with you to an extent, they kinda seem out of their element with this one but they still made an awesome game. You gotta remember that the gamebryo engine isn't exactly the most stable engine to work with.

As long as I have their side quest done, these lines usually put them 6 feet. "Ooh is it a dress?" "No! Its C4!"

EVERY time I shoot something I have to hear Veronica say "Am I gonna have to take that away from you?", doesn't matter if I just headshot a deathclaw from a mile away or put a bunch of 5.56 into some Fire Geckos, she always says it. I've gotten to the point that I often turn and aim down my scope at her face and say something along the lines of "I dare you to try...". :flame:

Prove the point - give it to her (point, aim, fire). ;)

I find that they say it no matter what I'm shooting at. Boon even offers to aim for me when I get a head-crit sometimes, so I figure its just part of the idle pvssyr. :P

Since Morrowind actually. I saw a mudcrab in the Muddy Rudder last night, i could kill that Quar quietly, the Legion can count on that :P

If Boone says 'let me aim that for you' one more time I think I'm going to have him killed permanantly no matter how useful he is. (Hard/hardcoe)

Lilly I actually can't use because she frustrated me so much in her associated quest everytime I went into sneak. Just shut the **** up!

"NCR took back Nelson, maybe they can win this war afterall"

Yeah, I hear people talk like this about Nelson more than anything else in the game, even the nuclear winter thing.

Kind of weird considering that seemed like a fairly minor quest to me.
