PCPS3 Release date, Part 4.

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 12:12 pm

After all the problems Bethesda caused in Europe (First they released the German version about three weeks later than the uk version and after releasing it in Germany, the German players were tortured with naked NPC`s and invisible enemys) I have no doubt that Bethesda will mess up the whole issue for pc and ps3 users. They are not even tell us a release date or something else. In my opinion Bethesda has lost a lot of reputation by the pc and ps3 gamers. Shame on you Bethesda because how you treat your paying customers. I think they don′t care about the other platforms, otherwise they would have told us something, even if it`s a excuse for their heinously behaviour.
(Sorry for my badass english, I′m from Bavaria  )

they are probably saying nothing because they don't know exactly when it will be ready.

its release has been dependent upon the completion on a patch, and that obviously requires coding. The very nature of coding results in unintended changes and bugs.

I deal with this all the time where i work. A customer needs me to order something for them and want to know when it will get there, I can't tell them exactly when it will get there since im not the man who is going to pick up their product and deliver it my self. Even if i give them an approximate time line and tell them there is no guarantee that it will get there at that time they all ways get mad at me.

Well, that's your own damn fault for spoiling the discoveries for yourself.

If you spend any amount of time on this forum you will inevitably be spoiled. It's not like I went out of my way to spoil myself.

Also, my lack of interest stems more from the fact that it has been such a long wait and excitement tends to die down after extended periods of time.

At least it's weeks. That means August and not later.

So that's great news.

Aren't you jumping the gun there? That could be September for all we know, as 7 weeks is still technically only one month.
They're also not psychic and can only estimate the time they need.

Don't hype yourself up ffs.....

If Bethesda would take this seriously enough, the DLC would be ready by now. Actually months ago. First point of interest: this is their biggest game series, and the first DLC is coming out 7-9 months after the release of the game. Now WTF is that? For Fallout 3 we had 4 add-ons already in that time, fifth on its way. Bethesda was very serious about the add-on material for Fallout 3, and it made Fallout 3 the biggest success of the company. Now they are just getting lazy and they dont put effort in Skyrim DLC material very much (it seems). Probably they are "saving" money from the development division, so there are only few guys making the content, who knows. That'd be really cheap of them, considering they made like $200 million of profit from Fo3's first week of sale and double that with Skyrim. Its not about money anymore, its about the company getting too big for its own good. Too many "decision-makers" and shareholders arguing about who get those millions and who doesnt.
The game-making itself becomes secondary in that situation, and the people at Bethesda who really cares about it, are silenced, or left without tools to make a difference, let alone the opinions of few hundred crying fans. They have their millions from their fans already. Why would they give a rats ass about few hundred fans crying about something they will buy pretty much anyway?

And the price: $20 for something that should've been released 4-5 months ago. And btw, thats 30% of the game's list price. The game provides you with at least 150 hours of good gameplay. How about Dawnguard? Maybe 10 hours, if you really, really take your time with it (thats 6-7% compared to the game). Now that I'd call some very expensive content and hours, compared to the game itself. How is it, that after making hundreds of millions of dollars from the game already, they still want to rip off the fans like that? Almost like the game's sales were so bad, that they NEED to get more money with the freakin' DLC content (which is already late, bad, no matter the Xbox exclusive deals). Despicable if you ask me, makes me nauseated :(

However, after all my ranting opinions about this, I consider myself one of the biggest fans of Bethesda games (youtube/orcidea). I truly love their games, deeply, I spend my money on their games more than most players, and for that reason I give myself the right to complain. Someone who doesnt care about this kind of things, isnt a true fan. Thats just another random gamer.
I'd like to see Bethesda take better course some day, really caring about its fans, showing it clearly, and openly loving the fans, the people who make their business possible in the first place.

I think Im done with my frustration now. I will get the Dawnguard and make videos of it, but only if it comes out within the next 4-5 weeks. After that, too late for me, since Borderlands 2 is coming. Now that possibility makes me sad :(

On my favourite shopping site www.gameware.at the release date is August 15th. Some other online shops say it`s August 2nd. It would be very nice if Bugthesda tell us something at least.

It's likely that the PC release will be earlier than the PS3 release, what with the higher amount of bugs present in the PS3 version, and the fact that it's still not had version 1.6 (I know it's skipping straight to 1.7 and that it will still have all the features 1.6 had).

When Bethesda announced Dawnguard they said it would only be a 30 day exclusivity window. If they don't release it today then that is proof they don't give a [censored] about PC players, who are the sole reason they even exist, as well as not caring about PS3 which we know they don't already.

It will be another month before it is released I think. Like with Dead Money for Fallout New Vegas.

A lot of people forgot that the PC was included in the exclusivity agreement with Fallout 3. PS3 users got royally boned for that one.

So basically Bathesda are barefaced liars, who deserve to be sued for false advertising.

Exclusivity ran out today, but that doesn't mean they have to release it today. They never lied. And both Steam and PSN don't add DLC on Thursdays, only Tuesdays.

Oh snap, it's Orcidea, the best source for concise stats and reviews on Fallout weapons.

You know you've screwed up when Orcidea logs in to tell you you've screwed up.

No, they just said there would be a thirty day period in which platforms other than the Xbox would have no chance of getting the DLC. After that runs out they are free to do what they want.

Why should Bethesda care about us, they`ve already prosttuted theirselves to MS.

Welcome to the business world.

I don't think you'd have any grounds for a lawsuit over the exclusivity contract, especially as false advertising.

However, I think you might have more grounds for a lawsuit for false advertising regarding the PS3 version of Skyrim. Having your VP of PR and Marketing assure potential customers that the 360 and PS3 had achieved a level of parity, only to have your game director come out and admit they knew the PS3 version had a bunch of problems unique to itself but decided to sell the game anyway and not retract their comment about the matching quality does seem like false advertising to me.

Who came out and said that?
I know Josh Sawyer attempted to explain why PS3 has issues with New Vegas and Skyrim and basically said "yeah this [censored] just won't work because A B and C", but he's with Obsidian, not Bethesda.

I've heard on multiple occcasions developers complaining about the PS3 and the challenges of developing games for it.

You really need remedial English, they said that Xbox would get the game 30 days before everyone else, so unless they take the files away from the xbox users, they have content that we don't have for more than 30 days, so the exclusive use of this content is going to be longer than 30 days. In order to comply with their 30 days exclusivity they must release the DLC to PC and PS3 players 30 days after they released it to xbox players, other wise they are in breach of contract.

http://kotaku.com/5885358/why-skyrim-didnt-play-nice-with-the-ps3 the article.

Apparently the official word is that they thought they had got everything taken care of before release, and only a small percentage of PS3 users experienced problems.

It's the same article in which Todd Howard basically said that people encountered problems because they had the audacity to hotkey spells or enter a building.

It's called the not so beneficial arrangement for consumers, when Bethesda decided to drop games for windows and jump in with the steam crowd at Valve.

You really need some common sense. Check the conditions of the contract again, as you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. If they had said it was to be released today, it would be released today. They didn't say that.

You can never win with the PC crowd, we're stubborn bastards. Do you know how many people complained about GFWL for Fallout 3? A metric crap ton. One of the top mods for Fallout 3 was a GFWL disabler.
