PCPS3 Release date, Part 4.

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 8:54 pm

You can never win with the PC crowd, we're stubborn bastards. Do you know how many people complained about GFWL for Fallout 3? A lot. One of the top mods for Fallout 3 was a GFWL disabler.
That mod was as popular as it was for a good reason. GFWL is a mess.

We were talking about the management of the DLC for Fallout. This is a thread about a DLC from the exact same company. We were making conjectures about the release date of this DLC using past experience.

I doubt Dawnguard by itself will be on disc. I've been wrong before though.

Yeah probably, but i was meaning on disc as Skyrim, at least a solid disc that you can buy in real stores before Steam will install it.

You mean bundled with Skyrim? If so, all the DLCs will probably be included in the GOTY edition of Skyrim, but I have no idea when that comes out.

It might be eventually, they put DLC on discs for Fallout, but it won't be on disc on release day.

You really need remedial English, they said that Xbox would get the game 30 days before everyone else, so unless they take the files away from the xbox users, they have content that we don't have for more than 30 days, so the exclusive use of this content is going to be longer than 30 days. In order to comply with their 30 days exclusivity they must release the DLC to PC and PS3 players 30 days after they released it to xbox players, other wise they are in breach of contract.

That's a question of who has the contract; which parties are involved.
The two parties involved are Microsoft and Bethesda, and thus, the only ones bound by it. In this case, Bethesda has all the power and the agreement was simply to give Microsoft 30 day exclusivity for the Xbox 360. Microsoft got that, and thus the contract has not been breached in anyway whatsoever.

We are not a part of the contract and thus have no say. It's also not false advertising because false advertising is for when you bought a product under false pretences, where the seller deliberately fooled you to make a sale. We've neither bought a product under false pretenses nor have they deliberately fooled us.

No, i mean just like KOTN and Shivering Isles. They were buyable separately on real stores before GOTY.

It might be eventually, they put DLC on discs for Fallout, but it won't be on disc on release day.

May you be right, i'm not able and don't want to buy it on Steam.

It's possible, but you may have to wait for GOTY edition.

Yes we have nothing to say, but without us, they won`t even exist, because we are paying their salaries. So is it to much for them just giving an official statement?

Really, just remember how difficult it was for them to give information about the release of the Bugfixes for the german 360 version of dawnguard.

There's a good chance this situation will be handled differently.

I think Bethesda knows a lot of their fan base is upset, and that may be a cause for them to give us info as soon as they can.

I hope we do not have to put up with the same crap every time a DLC get's released..If it will be then I won't buy any of them. The Elderscroll games are suffering in quality since the day they are made for consoles also.

Microsoft has 30 day exclusivity for the first two DLCs. That means Dawnguard and Hearthfire (presumably). Assuming there is more DLC after that, it will be released on all platforms simultaneously.
