PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 11

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 2:00 am

No but Boycotting never works even if people do it, there are still aton of people that will buy the dlc on release anyway. so it would do nothing at all.

This, it svcks to say but there really isn't anything that can be done about this trend in gaming, and as much as I've criticized their handling of the communication I really don't envy people whose job it is to interact with us; interacting with a gaming community in any official capacity is like trying to cross a lake of thin ice filled with depth charges, one wrong step and you'll likely explode.

Really people just need to calm down, Bethesda never directly said that it would be released at exactly when the exclusivity period ends. YOU chose to believe that, and when you found at that you were wrong you became impatient, annoyed, angry, etc. (Notice how I used the word "you" about 4 times in that sentence) Boycotting is a very ignorant thing to do, it's only been 2 days and people are already flipping out as if the world ends tomorrow. All we need to do is sit patiently like the good consumers we are and await word from Bethesda on either the release date or more info.

Unfortunately this. People do really lack the willpower to back up what they say. My guess is about 95% of everyone that's mad right now will buy it on release no matter what.

i have heard that they cant release it because the ps3 is made where something is not reading the files right for the dlc and the whole game that is why it is messed up... it isnt because bethseda doesnt care it is the files arent going together

I am sickened by the community itself personally, games being Exclusive to one or two Platforms is not something new. Look at the Uncharted series PC and Xbox 360 owners are getting crapped on by Rockstar. How Final Fantasy versus 13 PC and Xbox 360 owners will never see it, so lets call foul on Square-enix. This is just a few of many instances where games are released for certain platforms and not others. Simply put if you got a problem with the exclusiveness or delay of a gaming being released for you platform you may as well quit gaming cause Bethesda is not the only company doing it.

Exclusivity to a platform isn't a problem, waiting 30 days or more for something that is multi platform is the problem.
Some developers either prefer or are financially compensated to stick to a platform of choice, fair enough.
They are not putting other platforms on a 30 day wait because someone gave them money to do it and for no other reason.
They don't have to accept the money, there is a thing called integrity.
But from recent events surrounding banks and other money worshippers I really don't expect integrity to come into it anyway.
All the games industry is rife with it, thanks to money orientated publishers holding the reins.

The delay could probably well be due to sorting out the DLC and getting it working or due to marketing strategies, don't get me started on marketing asshats either as they are a part of the problem, but we will never know until someone at Bethesda actually does the decent thing and put everyone properly in the picture.

I dont think everyone is getting mad that they took the money, at least I'm not. I'm mad that they would alienate more than half of the customers for money. That is what's rustling my jimmies.

Good consumers would never stand for this in the first place.
Remeber when if you tried to make a cheap product and undermine your loyal consumer base you would be left with nothing, because people would leave you for something better.
I shure do.

It's not even that for me, I may not like it but there's also literally nothing I can do about it; what throws me for a loop is bethesda's inability to say anything without sounding like they are some bot programmed to recycle the same thing over and over. I am fully aware that they don't want to set a timeline they may not be able to adhere to but there are ways to express that without sounding as if you couldn't care less about the other platforms.

I dunno why the hell microsoft made xbox. PC and PS1 and PS2 used to rule the gaming world. Now xbox is stealing all the glory. All games are out first on stupid xbox then a month or two later they are on PS3 and PC. Why cant they release them for all platform at the same time ? Is it that hard? Also I hate when a gaming company says it doesnt profit to make a game for PC as well not only for xbox. Dawnguard should be out now a month has passed.

Ahem ,are we sure that Xbox exclusive is over? They said 30 days but I dont belive them anything now. I mean Pete Hines said that nothing is confirmed, so exclusive end is not confirmed also.I mean it must be hard to give us some news, and easier to just ignore us...Microsoft is probably giving them more money to prolongue this for as much as possible....

The fact that pisses me of is the time that passed since Skyrim is released. 11 11 2011 and now its end of July and we still don't have Skyrims first DLC.Way the go to keep ppl interested Bethesda.Or were you counting on random fans to make mods and keep ppl interested in Skyrim?Lazy slobs!

I'm off to play WoW and kill Deathwing for 100000000000 time.Atleast Blizzard never does this crap to their fans!

Seriously. Everyone's treating this like it's the end of the world because they aren't getting what they want.

It's not the exclusivity.
It's the complete lack of communication between Bethesda and the community.

in beths defense and exclusivity deal does not mean it will be out after 30 days it just means it can not be put on any other during those 30 days

I mean honestly.
Everything they have said so far meant NOTHING.
They have had 9 months to plan a release date.

Honestly, I would not be surprised if they keep it Xbox only.

You just hit the nail the head, i agree Bethesda has done a poor job at communicating with the Pc & Ps3 fanbase plus done forget the international Xbox 360, Ps3 & pc fanbase, we are all in the same boat.

Look at this garbage. http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/726393/skyrims-dawnguard-dlc-still-unconfirmed-for-ps3pc/

Not even confirmed to hit PC/PS3. Didn't Mass Effect just get their pants sued off for false advertising? It's one thing to be late on your initial 30 day promise, but to just not make good on it whatsoever is pretty much false advertising. Getting pretty sick of corporate greed in my gaming.

I dont think i can blame Tod or Pete or anyone else who created Skyrim or Dawnguard. They have no real power in this issue. It's all business and the ones above them who handle that business are the ones to blame. Microsoft offered the highest dollar and so they get catered to. If anyone is to blame it is them, not BGS.

I agree with you
I agree I dont think boycotting is nessasary unless BGS continues to pretend like there is nothing wrong how long are they going to ignore us we have technical issues and all they care about is a large payout from dg
