PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 11

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 9:35 am

No, this is not why. The 1.7 patch has to be released for the PS3 before they can even think about having Dawnguard on it.
You are right, that & Sony takes 1 to 2 weeks to test Dlc & patches of any kind, so it will take a while my hope is that they release Dawnguard at the same time as the patch but it may not happen that way. E.g if the importing screws up in anyway. witch is why i'm not jumping the gun like the Gamiing media ( just to get a story might i add ) is doing getting people thinking it will never come witch is not the case. it is people should know by now that Beth has a hard time importing dlc/ games to ps3.

That's strange somehow, i only have lag once in a while but that's if i'm playing like the complete day and in the heat of 30 degrees celsius + but i'm more outside then behind the ps so...

it makes no sense at all does it. it shouldn't happen

Reminder: If you buy 360 games you are part of the cancer infecting the gaming industry. Microsoft can't hand out bribes without customers. Specifically, Xbox customers since it's run out of its own division. Granted, Sony these days is pretty terrible too considering they bribed DICE/EA for delays on ALL Battlefield 3 updates on PC (including bugfix patches). Really both console companies are terrible. That people support them with their wallets or even "really devoted fan" for them is astounding.

Whether 360 owners are worse for gaming than the people that buy every new CoD game at full price + all DLC at full price is to be decided.
This is more or less why I won't buy a console. Albeit not because of Dawnguard.

I believe everyone here would like these questions answered, I don't believe the want to know why the Xbox got it first. The fact is it did and no amount of whining will change that.

No, but refusing to buy Beth's DLC will.

Ive seen a lot of ppl post on wiki answers and youtube comments that dawnguard will be on ps store on the 28th which is tomorrow UK time. and they sounded pretty serious. But i bet its just another rumour....*sigh* you know this whole 30 day exclusive thing has really pissed me off. I mean, its so pathetic that microsoft would actually bother to do this and actually expect ppl to give in to this cheap and petty propoganda in order to sell more xbox's. Youve got to admit although it has its flaws, the ps3 is a better manufactured product and so are all the rest of sonys creations (apart from the walkman and ps move which both svcked ass). So i think with the VERY MINOR bugs that xbox have had with their release surely ps3 can deal with them if it was released on the ps store like right now. That thing about not knowing whether there will be a release date or not is BS. they could easily jus release it now and work on the patch later but no theyve specifically said that we have to wait for 1.7 until DG can come out.

PS3 delay may be understandable.I don't understand PC delay. Is it pure lazyness or disrespect for biggest gaming comunity?

MS probably pays them a bonus for every week that they're "late" on PC on top of 30 days.

No, it won't. If PC/PS3 players don't buy the DLC, Beth will feel justified once more to concentrate on the Xbox because that is "their main audience". If PC/PS3 player buy the DLC like crazy, they will get the message that they didn't alienate so many customers that it hurt them, and they will continue with their practice.

There is no way PC/PS3 players can vote with their wallet in this scenario.

I actually don't have much issues with skyrim on my PS3 since the 1.5 patch before that it only hang once in a while...
most of the crashes happen in the beginning of the game and for me patch 1.5 made it worst it crashed every 5 mins in the beginning I cant play the beginning without it crashes

Why does this always come back to exclusivity? That is one horse that's been whipped, beaten and kicked to death. Leave the damn thing alone, it's like a sore tooth with a lot of you guys, you keep probing your tooth with your tongue, but it just makes it hurt all the worse.

The point we need to stress over and over with these posts is the communication problem between Bethesda PR and the community, if enough posters keep repeting the same thing they may finally get the message. Continually rambling on about the exclusive only detracts from the questions that need answering.

1. Why are Bethesda being so secretive about the Dawnguard release on platforms other than Xbox?
2. Why are we not even being given a general referance as to when it will be released, if ever.

I believe everyone here would like these questions answered, I don't believe they want to know why the Xbox got it first. The fact is it did and no amount of whining will change that.

I believe you hit the nail on the head here, as you have said the exclusivity is besides the point, it happened it will happen again and there really isn't anyhting that can change that. What is concerning is the utter lack of the ability to communicate to us as if we were human beings, note Im not talking about the moderators as they dont know anything more than we do, but the people in PR and development in general.

Personally I see Forums where the dev team regularly interact with the community to be much, much less hostile towards those developers. Take The Secret World for example, regardless of how you actually feel about the game the fact that the development team and Ragnar himself (the director/producer) regularly interacts with the community is great, but not only that when he does speak about the game its clear to everyone that he loves what he and his team are making and wants the customers they are making it for to love it too.

That is the type of interaction id love to see here.

i don't think it is maybe Pc's Dawnguard will be released when the patch is, or when Ps3's release is to release it at the same time for everyone thats waiting, only time will tell.

Said it before, but here it is again.....It's very possible that the "30 exclusive" time didn't start until it was released for ALL Xbox 360 platforms....that would include the FIGS version, which didn't get released til roughly 2 Weeks after it was released for the English versions....Xboxes are sold world wide....I'll bet you any amount of money that the 30 day exclusive time isn't even up yet, and Beth is still under a "gag order"

You clearly don't get how it works.

No company has "solidified in their support of a console market" because PC gamers got mad at them. See Modern Warfare 2? Pathetic number of PC sales. Ever notice how even though Acti kept up the face of "Cod is for consoles and XBox is the best!" MW3 and Black Ops 2 have dedicated servers again and PC-only features? See Ubisoft putting more effort into their ports these days and less DRM? I mean hell, look at Watch_Dogs. It won't look anywhere near that good on a console.

It's all a face that game companies take money from MS/Sony to put on. In reality they aren't actually willing to lose their PC fanbases. We most certainly can vote with our wallets, and I'm going to. All of this "90%, our main audience, the best platform in gaming" trash are statements Microsoft PAYS Bethesda to make. They get an undisclosed amount every time they publicly prop up the Xbox brand through an official channel like a press release, company twitter post, or magazine / gaming site interview. And yet their games continue to be far better on PC ... Curious.

My fiance just told me they haven't announced a release date for PC for Dawnguard, and I have to say, what the hell? This is utterly stupid and ridiculous.

Microsoft bribe money too strong.

Write a letter to the FTC. Maybe they have something to say.

You're absolutely right, if you've been following this paper trail of posts, I've already stated that I will not be taking part in the Dawnguard DLC frenzy when/if it is released. I'm now only prepared to buy when it goes on sale on Steam at a greatly reduced price.

The only reason I'm still posting here is because I've been here following and posting from the start, and I've been entertained to a degree along the way, I would say at this point it's better entertainment than the DLC will be!

I think Bethesda wants to look like they are all heroes by surprising us on Tuesday and release Dawnguard. To bad Bethesda has waited long enough that they have become villains.

I'll wait as long as it takes to get the freedom to mod and experience new stuff. Honestly, i don't even care anymore. I've read so much about the DLC already, but i didn't really manage to spoil things for myself that badly. After all of this [censored] and controversy; i'll still be happy to go through Dawnguard several times.

My love for the DLC =/= my feelings towards Bethesda/Microsoft.

After reading so many treads on this topic (even started one) I've decided that I will get DLCs for Skyrim on PS3 only after each one has been available for at least 3 months, give Beth time to fix things (though 3 months is overly optimistic considering their track record)
