My playthrough of Skyrim & complaints: day 1

Post » Mon Jan 07, 2013 1:42 am

40% off isn't a sale. Every steam user knows that. On top of that I only 5€. 5€ gets me dlc at 75%.

Hmm. *rubs chin*

Is 50% off considered a sale in your book? My $5 or no sale stance for Dawnguard was broken because I wanted to play Skyrim again with the Requiem mod.

Isn't this Beth's first try at mounted combat?? IMO they did pretty well with their first try. Besides if you don't like it then you can choose to not use it just as I have, I never use horses and I never will just because of how " clumsy " it is, but it's still alright for a first try.

Let me tell you what I think of this thread, POINTLESS. Go cry about it elsewhere. If you have issues that you wish to discuss then go post it here http://www.gamesas.com/forum/179-skyrim-hardware-and-software-issues-subforums/ Everyone is entitled to their opinion but this is ridiculous.

And that too, I guess the old saying " don't look a gift horse in the mouth " has been lost through the ages....

Oh OP, why did you have to ruin some of your perfectly good points, by bringing them in this fashion with the whole premise of "I did not get a sale"?

The OP should edit his opening post to remove that otherwise he'll just have to deal with the spam that he brought upon himself.....

Then everyone else has to edit their own posts too, to omit any quotes or references to that...and I'll have to edit this post because it'll confuse people, they won't have any idea what I'm going on about.

OR everyone just ignore that little rant and stick to the topic.... But sadly it's what he opened with.

Barely but it was only 40 during winter. I too have 5€ stance on dawnguard and my "iron will" still holds.

First of all dlc are designed to be overpriced and second I wanted play new vegas with dlc but couldn't afford it due it being only 40% off. I also didn't want to huge amounts (2.5€ is a lot) because of the whole 85 metacritic bs.

On top of that the whole paragraph in the into isn't even directed at any forum posters but I thought it was needed because a good critic shows his motives.

Well you chose the wrong motive then, when read it comes off as " self-entitled " 40% off IS a sale by all definition..... Just because you feel that it isn't doesn't really mean a thing, if it was only 5% off then it would still be considered a sale.

How is 40% off not a sale? Even by definition alone it is!

Damnit. You're right, 50 is [censored] and I should held my ground. 60% would've been more acceptable, right?

Right?

Is that the smell of self entitlement in the air ?

As for horses in Skyrim - I don't use 'em because I can't get 'em at a 75% discount :swear:

Look, I agree that the DLC's are overpriced, but you cannot expect to get -75% off everything. It is sad that you were not able to afford it, but [censored] happens bro.

Some Nord should team up with some expert economist from Solitude to bring IKEA to Skyrim. They could be selling horses for 250 Septims each kicking everybody out of the business.

The self entitlement is around us more than ever and it's starting to seep into our everyday lives. Woe is us.

I'm trying to get answers here. Five years on steam and I still don't know [censored].

No, we just would like a toggle for this buggy, unwanted and immersion breaking feature.

Games like Skyrim and Fallout: New Vegas are fantastic value and should never have to go on sale.

Mounted combat was not part of the original game and it wasn't designed to be. It was a FREE extra. If you don't like it, don't use it. But don't complain that something you got for free isn't good enough. You can't get more entitled than that.

NOTE TO SELF: Stop clicking on these pathetic, whiney threads about entitled nonsense.

Poorly implemented free extra is still poorly implemented. Patches are something everybody should expect as they are designed to keep the player intrested so that you can sell future games for the player. I wonder what would have happened if Beth never realeased a single patch? My guess their sales would fall from 10 million copies to 10 copies. And besides I payed for the horse combat (my hdd space isn't free you know).

disclamer: I don't actually know how many copies skyrim has sold.

Agreed with basically all the things you guys pointed out about Skyrim.

Technically, Bethesda didn't implement all of those because they were more interested in attracting new players, which was a terrible mistake. Most of those new players are more interested into just rushing throught all the Quests, leveling as fast as they can, getting the best weapons and gear and turn into an extremely overpowered character.

Note: I'm not saying that all of the new players are like this (One example is my friend that has never played a TES game before but he "plays just like an old fan would play" and agrees with alot of things said here in this Thread), but a great part of them are, and that's why Skyrim lacks so many things (some of them even was into older games, such as the Mortar and Pestle). Basically Bethesda was trying to "adapt" the game to this kind of players rather than making a game for their old fans. For me it was a terrible mistake..

Un-constructive criticism: This thread is a joke. Really? We're basically bringing up VERY OLD complaints as some sort of petty 'threat' to the Bethesda Developers who probably stopped checking these threads for THIS particular reason. I mean, my God- how is this thread not locked on the fact that this is all because some cheap [censored] wants a BIGGER discount for FO:NV.

Constructive criticism: I can grasp the flaws of horseback riding, wanting a First Person POV, but in the end; it's not my game. It's not your game. It's their game. I'm just enjoying what I have.

P.S.

It's called Mount And Blade. Mount and Blade! Mounted combat is sort of their thing. Skyrim has many focuses to worry about... So knitpicking details such as pivoting is sad. Just sad.

sounds like a problem with your personal finances not a problem with bethesda, why dont you go to the fallout forums to complain instead of making thread number 10,000 about horse combat. and you say you arent trying to flame, but with a title such as "Skyrim svcks" you are only inviting trouble

but i think you knew this already, since you made it quite clear in your OP that you are an self admitted troll
