Dominos or Papa Johns

I agree ASDA pizzas are very nice. Stay away from Iceland ones though
I had an iceland mini pizza the other day, it was disgusting.

My grandma, however, cooks the most awesome pizza. I don't think she's too sure on the difference between a pizza and a lasagne, but it has a bread base and about 30 lb of cheese and tomato on top.

30 pounds of cheese sounds about right, give or take an ounce or two.

I lived on Iceland pizzas when my student loan ran out at uni last year. They were actually not as bad as I was expecting, especially since they only cost a quid.

Haha, wow, I can't believe all the food snobbery on this forum. Of course Domino's isn't made perfectly, from the highest quality ingredients, but what do you expect for the price? It's perfectly palatable, and anyone who says it tastes like cardboard is a pretentious [censored]. I still prefer Papa John's, just because of one specific pizza I really like.
I totally agree with you regarding the way everything must "svck" or "rule" on most forums and that the lack of objectivity gets tiresome. However, people have strong opinions about food in general. People's palettes, what they have available in their area, what they're used to, their tolerance for certain ingredients, etc. all play a role, and there's no way to tell if they're exaggerating or not. I'll eat most kinds of pizza if I'm hungry enough, but given a choice I would not choose any of the large pizza chains over a decent pizzeria. Part of that, like I said, has to do with the fact that I have a low tolerance for preservatives and sodium, which pizza chain food is usually full of. Papa John's "regular" (as in non-specialty) pizza, for example, isn't worth all the sodium and calories to me.

I'm just getting sick of the anti-anything-popular attitude on this forum. Domino's is not the worst pizza ever, Starbucks is not the worst coffee ever, Modern Warfare 3 is not the worst game ever, Twilight is not the worst book ever, etc. Popularity and quality are not mutually exclusive.
I agree it is tiresome, but I think a large reason why people do it online is because its more noticeable if it's an absolute. Saying Fallout is the best RPG ever and saying Domino's has the worst pizza ever is much more interesting and eye-catching to most people then saying Fallout is one of the best RPG's ever and Domino's makes some of the worst pizzas ever.

No, Dominoes is not the worst pizza ever. I'll get it if I'm in the mood for garlic. And I think their sandwiches are great if greasy (the pasta bowls used to be great until those became grease bowls).

I feel it's been declining in quality for a while. The taste of the new "recipe" got old quick (I liked it at first), and the locals ones seem to be using more and more flavor enhancers instead of substance. It doesn't taste like card board or frozen microwaved pizza (Pizza Hut does to me), and it tastes good when I'm in the mood, but it doesn't really taste like pizza. And by that I mean it doesn't taste like any of the ingredients. I don't taste the cheese or dough, just grease, garlic, and whatever spices they overpower the sauce with. Maybe I'm just unlucky over here, or maybe they changed their formula again recently and I haven't had it. Thankfully I have the option of an alternative. I'm not going to belittle others' opinions of Dominoes, and I don't dislike it because it's popular. I dislike it because I think it tastes bad.

Personally, out of the two, I prefer Papa Johns thin crust with ham and the garlic dipping sauce. I'm not much of a picky eater. Do I enjoy the finer things? Hell yeah I do. But I'm not a pizza snob. Do I consider it "real pizza". Not really, but good pizza is hard to come by without leaving this little [censored]hole I live in. I prefer pizza from this place called Big Ed's over in Oak Ridge (Yes, "Manhattan Project" Oak Ridge). They have the best pizza bar none. So amazing, and so delicious. I wish they allowed carry out, but I think it's dine in only, which svcks.

Never tasted "Iceland" products but I already dislike the place for the stupid naming. Who the heck names a chain after a country ? And feigning ignorance won't work. No one names anything without at least having a clue if it's used for something else. "Hhhmmm, I'm gonna name this store 'Norway' because it's in the way north... now let's look into it quickly and... oh... a country... oh, too bad." Heck I can already imagine one being opened in Iceland. "Yo dawg, I heard you like Iceland so we put an Iceland in your Iceland so you can go to Iceland while you're in Iceland."

Anyway when it comes to microwave pizza I like http://www.laurenbkirchner.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/P1010923.jpg Not because they're the best but because they're cheap for how big they are. Nice to buy a few and then wolf them down those times when I don't feel like making anything fancy.

It's a bad pun based on them selling entirely frozen stuff.

Whichever one allows you to order a bacon pizza for less wins.
