So I guess the beta achievements didn't matter? :\
Nope. They said they were gonna get wiped when beta was over. They were just there as placeholders to test with.

So don't expect to be playing again until 2 or 2:30. :P

The irony is if they had singleplayer it would reduce the amount of connections on their servers meaning more people could play the multiplayer who want to and more the singleplayer if they want to. Apparently we're in some sort of technological dark ages. I think this is the last Blizzard product I ever get. Star Craft 2 didn't impress me with its archaic approach to the strategy genre. Amusing diversion, but no real evolution. The same stagnant game people have been playing for decades.

Edit
I still can't play. I honestly can't promise I'll return to Diablo 3 any time soon now because of this. I have better things to be doing, not to mention a ton of games vying for my attention at any one time. Long live Grimdawn, the real action rpg.

No offline single player meant I was reluctant to buy the game. Seeing these server issues makes me happy I didn't.

Most of my Diablo 2 time was spent single player, even on battlenet, due to those asshats who liked to hack and screw with people. I feel sorry for all of you at the mercy of their servers. You bought a game you can't even play single player because someone thought it was a good idea to require an internet connection.

It's the first day, lol. You should have expected server issues when thousands are trying to access the game. I doubt it will be this bad in a week or even tomorrow.

Kira, my game paused when I pressed ESC.
@BoonProtR3: If you're alone in the game you can pause.

Ah, cool. Good to know.... I hadn't even tried, because I assumed (yeah, yeah) that it wouldn't work in an online/MP-engine game.

They said they wouldn't matter. I just did them in-case they changed their minds. Guess what? They decided that none of the achievements would matter at all but anyone who got a closed beta license would get a Feat of Strength (like an achievement but worth no points) and an exclusive sigil. Even if that person never logged in and played. Bastards.

No offline single player meant I was reluctant to buy the game. Seeing these server issues makes me happy I didn't.
It's day one. Give it time and Blizz will fix it. In a week I bet the servers will be smooth as silk.

287+ negative reviews on metacritic and a 3.7 user rating that continues to plummet? Yikes.

You should ignore metacritic reviews, they are full of craps.

Truth be told it doesn't look like anything exceptionally out of the ordinary to warrant astounding reviews other than being a sequel. If all it takes to get awesome reviews is brand power, then lol that's just sad. It plays almost exactly like Titan Quest. Has probably more content (I hope), and will likely be patched better than that game without fan patches. Yet when the reviews roll in watch them 9's and 10/10's roll in. Despite being arguably the exact same game minus some features and with a bit more content.

And? People whine that there were too many changes to a sequel. Then they whine that it's the same game. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

If it changed a lot, fans will revolt and say it's not Diablo anymore. Titan Quest is still more innovative and in a way better, but what can I say I haven't experienced the Nightmare endgames yet. Hard to tell.

Brand name selling power. *sigh* Like I said. Disappointing day is disappointing. Don't get me wrong it's a really good game 8.5 from me, just not exceptional, revolutionary, one of a kind, or offering a vast enough experience that it blew my mind and I could forget about it being a rehash.

Skyrim's user review was no where near a 3.7 on launch. This is Blizzard. This is Diablo. A popular gaming series by a big time dev. Why so low compared to Skyrim?

People troll on Metacritic all the time. The same thing as happened on Amazon.

Nah I think Grim Dawn will excel in that department. Hell even Torchlight 2 makes me drool right now. See, I got lots of friends who have heard of D3 but none heard of Titan Quest nor Torchlight, so it's the only thing I can play with friends.

Hyped as it was, Skyrim/The Elder Scrolls is still a much smaller name than Diablo. There are a lot of people who were ready and waiting and got a faceful of errors when they tried to play, so now they're doing the knee-jerk minimum rating for a game they haven't played yet. Skyrim had its people disappointed in it, but it wasn't initially unplayable. Once it's up and running, I'm sure the flood of knee-jerk zeroes will be overwhelmed by the flood of 10's it will inevitably get because it says Diablo/Blizzard on the box.

It should have been the left click by default or was it right click...unless they changed it from the beta.
Also the new thread is up guys.

For those of you who don't know.
/v/ is all over metra critic keeping the rating at 3.7 or 37.
As in error 37 that diablo 3 gives out.

Once you have all the puzzle pieces you can see the picture. Yes its stupid and childish but thats four-chon /v for you.
