...oh, nice. And I can't post on the D3 forums using one of my WoW characters, since my WoW account isn't active. Have to use my D3 "name", which plasters your battletag all over. Which I'm not a fan of - I'm not big on the whole social-network / tweet your life / live in the public view thing. I'm one of the people who wishes there was a "log in as invisible" option for when you don't want to be bugged by people on your "friends list", or because you're not a fan of the concept that any random Joe who adds your tag to their list basically gets free surveillance on your activities.

When did living your life in a fishbowl in front of a camera become something to desire? (Maybe it's because I remember back before 1984, when we still thought about
1984, and "Big Brother Is Watching" was a warning people believed in.)

The game is online only because many of the important bits like AI are on Blizzard's servers. If they made it offline too then mods, hacks, bots, would all be easier to develop. It's easier for them to keep things clean with online only and after the mess that was D2 I'm glad.
I never had any "mess" with D2. But, then, I never played it online.

(and mods were great - not stupid crap like hacks, but the scenario variants/new classes/conversions.)
