Error 25009, yep. When a game starts speaking garble at me for playing single player you know its going to be one of those really hard to play games because of the numerous problems. *sigh* Let's hope this isn't going to become a regular thing or I'll just move on to other things.

Edit
If you can play the damn thing its a good game.

I cant even install the bugger.

Got to 69% then it said its corrupted. Tried again and it was trying to make me download about 5gb. So i quit that, started again, got corruption messages again.
Deleted some stuff and trying from scratch again now. Hopefully this time.

Anyone know what the patch sizes ill need to download are up to now?

Edit- nope, soon as i get past the "updating setup files" and into the launcher i get the corruption error.
So annoying.. Totally fresh install it seems.

...and people wonder why I'd rather buy physical discs instead of doing digital. Repeated multi-gig downloads when things go wrong.... whee!

I find the "always online" thing to be annoying. But the thing that bugs me the most about it being an "online MP game that you can play SP" is that you can't pause - like when the cat starts chewing on some plastic bags (or horking up the plastic she already ate), and you really need to jump to deal with it. Pause is nice. Ah, well.
(Sacred 2 had the same issue, since it did single player the same way - by using the MP "engine" even when you were playing offline/SP)

The game is online only because many of the important bits like AI are on Blizzard's servers. If they made it offline too then mods, hacks, bots, would all be easier to develop. It's easier for them to keep things clean with online only and after the mess that was D2 I'm glad.

AND BECAUSE THEY WANT TO STEAL YOUR SOUL.

People can't play their single player games because the online servers are down. Single Player... What a sham.

...oh, nice. And I can't post on the D3 forums using one of my WoW characters, since my WoW account isn't active. Have to use my D3 "name", which plasters your battletag all over. Which I'm not a fan of - I'm not big on the whole social-network / tweet your life / live in the public view thing. I'm one of the people who wishes there was a "log in as invisible" option for when you don't want to be bugged by people on your "friends list", or because you're not a fan of the concept that any random Joe who adds your tag to their list basically gets free surveillance on your activities.

When did living your life in a fishbowl in front of a camera become something to desire? (Maybe it's because I remember back before 1984, when we still thought about 1984, and "Big Brother Is Watching" was a warning people believed in.)

I never had any "mess" with D2. But, then, I never played it online.
(and mods were great - not stupid crap like hacks, but the scenario variants/new classes/conversions.)

Kira, my game paused when I pressed ESC. Pretty sure at least, I could be mistake but I'm pretty sure everything stopped when I accidentally hit esc one time while in a battle.

Single player =/= offline

@BoonProtR3: If you're alone in the game you can pause.

I've been playing D3 with my flatmates. We just reached Act 2.

So far I've had fun with Wizzard. But things are getting hard since I've been unable to find any decent Vitality gear, and my health is pretty low...

I like hardcoe/IronMan type gaming (perm death) too. Offline.
I don't enjoy it when my perm death may be caused by server lag or sudden unannounced disconnects.

Single player =/= offline

Exactly. And that's a big, big problem.

I remember once waiting 5 minutes for a game of UFC 2009 to load because it had to connect to servers first. 5 minutes when I just wanted to play a quick offline game.

This being online to play single player is inexcusable.

Oh no not five minutes. Think of the children!
Honestly, I don't really care about the always online seeing that my computer is always connected to the internet. The only problem I have with it is if the servers are down and I want to play by myself.

Did you register the game to your battle.net account? Unless it's a digital copy.
