PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #20

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 2:17 pm

Sold my copy of Skyrim today.

Maybe I'll buy it off of Steam when and if it's on sale for a decent price.

I will not pay 60USD twice.

Fact is if it won't run as DLC it won't run from disk. GOTY just packages the DLC along side the main game.

Setting aside the fact that Hines already said that DG runs to some extent already on PS3 and stating that Skyrim GotY version is pure speculation on my part, i have to disagree with you. Part of the problems with DG, as i've gathered from reading different accounts, are coming from the DLC being installed into an already dynamic Skyrim game save. Seems to me that if Dawnguard was made a part of a GotY initial release, that issue at least would be handled.

Just my take anyways, i mean i'd never know because despite how much i would like to extend my time in Skyrim, i'm not paying for a game 2x-even if the second purchase was enhanced.

Lol I got banned for swearing at Bethesda. Corporate [censored]s have their lackeys punishing those who speak against them. Anyway I'm done with Dawnguard, Skyrim, Bethesda. Dishonered: Don't Care I'll have fun playing Black Ops 2, AC3 , The Last of Us, Resident Evil 6, Bioshock Infinite, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Continuing playing Battlefield 3 \, Beating Darksiders 2 and so on. Bethesda you are a terrible company, you repel potential Business, I have much better games, that I could be playing. Bettere than the bugged crap that you give us. Eat it.

What they do for the GOTY edition for a bethesda title is the package all the DLC on the disk with the main game and the two are installed together likely under one file instead of two but Its no more intergrated from the disk then it would be from PSN. You can take a save game from vanilla fallout 3/NV or Oblivion and load it into the respective GOTY edition. If the problems could be solved by starting a new game they'd likely just release it and say "sorry you'll have to start a new game, or it will cause problems." That's certainly a better option then waiting for GOTY and having to start a new game anyways.

Now if they rebuilt Skyrim's programing and fully intergrated the DLC in a way they haven't done before for the GOTY edition that could make a difference. But thats not how they've handled GOTY in the past they want it to be compatible with saves from the vanilla title.
