But more on topic, Bethesda said that DG doesn't work only in a few cases, and that it works fine for others. PS3 these games are relying more and more on cached data stored on the HDD. I suspect that on the cases where it doesn't work that the console has little or no hard drive space left. In my opinion Beth should just release the DLC, and if it doesn't work then the user can clean their HDD or replace it with a SSD.
Then again this is all theoretical, based on the information that Beth has given us, which doesn't say much...
Users with problems gathered a lot of data over the course of a few months as things were going wrong with Skyrim on PS3, the amount of HDD space didn't seem to be a factor. When the game first installs it may take a percentage of available free disk space to set the initial cache size but this is probably a dynamic cache. Yes keeping the HDD tidy helps for a time as a database rebuild using the system maintenance menu also gives short term gains but performance always degrades over time due to the nature of the ported data.
SSD users also reported initial gains but again the performance fell off over time with all the usual faults becoming evident, but the SSD is also useful for any game that pushes large data blocks around such as GT5 but as a cure for Skyrim's shortcomings it's a waste of time.
for me the excitement wasnt really their... but if this happens to fallout 4 i will be soooo pissed....
Fallout 4 is still using the Gamebryo engine and we know how well that does on the PS3 so don't hold your breath on it being better.
