Read the Steam/DRM thread, people complain about that all the time. The difference is that PC games have never had as large of a used game or game rental market as consoles.

Gamestop does most of its business in used games, and people trade in their console games all the time.

They are outdated. Most people wanted next gen systems just so that PC technology would start advancing again, since developers usually focus on the lowest common denominator (consoles).

Well... colour me distinctly unimpressed. That, ladies and gents, is how to completely balls-up a console reveal.

Sony are an [censored] of a company and have treated me as a customer abominably over the last two console generations, but at the moment I'm definitely leaning towards PS4, not because they have done anything to win me back, but through their rival's incompetence. Of course I'll wait until everything is known (about both consoles), but right now that seems to be the way it's going.

Just as a note on the used game fee, Sony could well end up doing the same. All I've heard is that PS4 will play used games, beyond that they refused to comment.
