Kinect is required. If it breaks, can't use the box.

Wow I'll be skipping this crap and upgrading my pc. If I do buy a console this time I think I'll be going with Sony.

It's going to happen, there's already a severe shortage of good games. Most of the interesting games I've been seeing for the last year or two are all from Indie developers.

Point taken -- but I was merely looking at it from my perspective and I don't have my consoles and PC in a small room.

It does say you HAVE to have it connected, but a controller is there to use. Now who is saying we can't use that instead of a Kinect?

Hopefully e3 is much better, and shows off the true capabilities of these consoles, otherwise I'll be forced to get a pc, which will leave me less for games.

Do you have to pay to play online again? I thought that to be the most absurd thing about the XBOX 360.

If Xbox Live, which is argued to be the best online service, was to become free - they'd sing and shout about it and how amazing it was. Since they didn't, I assume not.

Well, from other gaming sites a lot of people are pissed at Microsoft. I wonder if they will listen. Really, what was going through their minds when they decided all this?

No idea who could ever argue Xbox Live to be one of the greatest online services. Probably one of the lowest if not the worst in my opinion. Steam is soo much better, except I hate how there are games for windows lives still advlterating games that are on Steam.

They are not going to pack the performance of an FX-8350 and a GTX680 into a 100W power envelope. I'm not sure how people can have such unrealistic expectations regarding the hardware . . .

This consoles specs are not going to be that strong, from some of the stuff we seen approaching gameplay level of graphics they didn't look all that hot. The PS4 at least seems too approach a decent PC of today, but nothing high end or crazy.

Edit

The one good feature live TV needs an additional device? Hahahahah and it won't be available outside of the US. I see they didn't tell us this in the conference. I think this is one of the worst console reveals ever.

Probably thinking: "If Valve can do it, why can't we?" and "How about we give the third parties developers what they've been asking for this generation"

they said its to be forward compatible so teh games will start off looking crap but as developers learn what the system can do and make full use of all resources they should get better over time (look what bethesda did on the 360 from oblivion - skyrim now imagine that but on higher specs and more capabilities)
