http://www.vg247.com/2013/02/02/prey-2-countdown-site-appears-to-unlock-in-27-days-rumor/

Also, you can see that the font used for the "Prey" logo at the top is the same as in http://assets1.ignimgs.com/2011/08/18/prey-2-20110818105322517-3510652.jpg screenshot.

So yeah, 27 days until new info, it appears.

UPDATE: By subscribing to the website, you get a new image emailed to you each day. Here are the ones sent so far:

Interesting... this definitely lines up with the recently discovered beta:

Prey 2 was spotted in the Steam database.

It's still active. Prey tell Bethesda, what's going on with this game?

As the article sjvan0 brought us says, don't be super excited about this website folks because it might turn out to be a prank by some mindless idiot. I'm praying it won't be though...

MrTibbs, I have heard of the Valve test app/beta for P2 mentioned before but never fully understood what a valve test app actually was. Is it a sort of private beta that can be downloaded and tested by a few selected individuals or is it something entirely different, like a simple gaming listing in their repository with no actual game data?

It's typically to my knowledge only given out to games that are likely to appear for sale. I have not seen a Steam registration leak that hasn't come true. And I have seen at least two dozen or more and counting. There may be exceptions, but I seriously doubt it. It could also be a beta app they use to make sure it works with Steam's systems as part of development. Either way, good news. VERY good news.

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/02/03/countdown-site-may-be-teasing-prey-2.aspx

The website http://www.aliennoire.com/ was uncovered by NeoGAF, and it looks like it may be associated with the not-cancelled, but fate undetermined Prey 2.
Along with this posting on NeoGAF pointing to the site, user EatChildren also posted a screenshot of the page's source code that featured the words Prey 2, Bethesda Softworks, and Hothead Studios. The source code has either been changed since the screenshot was taken, or the screenshot featured on NeoGAF has been fabricated, because it no longer features any of these references. One piece of evidence that is present on the page's source code, however, is the phrase, "Tommy needs your help." Tommy was the name of the protagonist from the original Prey, and was confirmed to be part of Prey 2.

Looking at the site's http://whois.net/whois/aliennoire.com registration details, reveals that the site was registered in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, which is close to
the Cherokee Tribal Administration. Tommy is of Cherokee descent, and his family history is a major component of the original Prey.
The countdown will end on Friday, March 1, so presumably we will find out then if this is something legitimate, or something fan created on that date.

I find it interesting that the site is registered in Oklahoma because Human Head Studios is located in Wisconsin. I hope this game is released this year, the little gameplay shown at E3 2011 or whenever looked insane.

I think the Oklahoma location is a reference to Prey 1's abduction site. That's where Tommy and Killian are separately captured by the collective from a bar and plane respectively.

Fingers, crossed!

And just to provide a soup?on of further speculative justification, Chris Rhinehart (Project Lead/Human Head Studios) coined (or at least recited) the phrase "alien noire" in a video interview from 2011(at around the 2:50 mark)...

Can't wait to play this game. Great Viral material so far. They are probably testing the reaction of a fanbase to see if people are interested in this game. Keep these forums alive to prove your interest, tell your friends... The first prey was such a unique fps game with smart puzzles, graphics, and originality; I can only imagine the sequel taking that to the next level.

Prey 2 is still on many lists of where has it gone, or we want this game. I am sure they are well aware of the presence this game has.

Idk if it will ever come to PS3, I hope so as it is a fun game. Otherwise if your PC is able to play it you could look into that.

I have been following the game since literally six hours after it was announced (kinda like how i stumbled upon cyberpunk 2077 just three hours after its announcement) and I gotta say its the only game that is sending chills down my spine at the minute. I want my alien noir! Im tired of RPGs being either fantasy or militaristic sci-fis (like ME). Firefly RPG anyone?

I just hope this countdown is real despite it reeking of hoax. Its very similar to simplygames.com having pre orders for Prey 2. I cant help but feel its a con, getting ppl to pay £40 up front without there actually being a product. If its not a con then they put the release date to be March 31. best case scenario: the site isnt a hoax and on the 1st we learn Prey 2 will be released on the 31st...I wouldnt count on it though
