PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #4

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 11:29 pm

They don't owe it but taking money from said company and only releasing it for said systems which Xbox and PC are both MIcrosoft would look really bad after all this don't you think?
Microsoft get nothing from PC gaming. They hate it.

PC is still a Microsoft based system if you have Windows. After all the crap Beth has gotten this time around with Skyrim and the PS3 it would be good for them to release DG on the PS3. Put some faith back into the PS3 users.

Microsoft still hate PC gaming. They can make no money from it unless it's using GFWL or some other system. With the Xbox they control everything, the PC being so open means that they can't.

I know I was just saying that Microsoft has a hand in both of those platforms and Beth taking money from them and only releasing to those platforms would just look bad. Considering they aren't at the best of terms with PS3 users as is if you know what I mean. PS3 users aren't going to see your point about them making no money on PC gaming they will just see Microsft is Window's and both Xbox and Windows got DG but not us.

Yes, but why does Bethesda even owe you DLC? It's completely up to them on what they want to do with their product and whom they want to offer it to. Bethesda doesn't even have to release Dawnguard on PS3 if they didn't want to. They wouldn't even have to make it available to Xbox users. It's their product and with that comes the option to make it available to whom you so choose.

Edited for grammatical errors
no its not the DLC but the fact that we paied just as mutch for our PS3 version and there was no warning on the box or any other indication that you might not get future DLC's or less support.
so PS3 players have just as mutch right to the DLC as xbox360/PC players of the game. in my eyes they do owe us the same as xbox/pc players.
if they didnt whant to owe us anything they should have put a warning on the box and sold the game at a discount.
but because they didnt put any warning on the box or sold the PS3 game at a discount, they do owe us and it would be discrimination not to bring the DLC to PS3 players

Okay....honestly...i am sick of looking at the most ridiculous posts....a couple of things to keep in mind...

1. Pete Hines tweeted on August 3rd that Dawnguard is NOT cancelled...its just not done yet

2. NOBODY has the right to complain....NOBODY! Dawnguard is Beth's creation...if they dont want to release it for everyone...they dont have to, be lucky they ARE releasing it!

3. Without Beth, the company you are complaining about so much, there would be no skyrim...which means no Dawnguard...

So...with that said.....SHUT THE HELL UP!

1: its still not 100% garantied its being released for PS3.
2: evrybody has the right to complain, because of freedom of speach.
3: its not the company but the team working for them that created the game so even without Bethesda there would be games like Elderscrolls maybe under a difrent name and with a difrent background story. but still the same game.

He is right we are the Customers, and that gives us the right to complain and ask stupid questions.
and for "Dawnguard is Beth's creation...if they dont want to release it for everyone...they dont have to" if the exclude a group of Gamers just because of what system they play on is discrimination.

its the same as selling stuff to white people(Xbox) and not sell anything to Black people(PS3).
Are you actually comparing consoles to racism? Seriously?

Wow. You just crossed the line.

This thread gets more and more depressing.....

Plain and simple truth is no matter what happens PS3 player will be charged full price of $20 for DG, bethesda will shurg off the idea of a discount, and the cycle will continue on.

Do I have to repeat myself....

i didnt even sugest it was discrimination in this post, i was just saying that if they exclude PS3 Players with as only reason just because they are PS3 Players, would be discrimination.
if you claim it issent you should look up discrimination.

I don't really see how the lack of DLC means you can't play the core game.

Putting all the BS aside I think we all could agree that this whole situation could have been handled better. As someone else stated in another thread, I don't think Beth should have even released it and began the 30 day exclusive until it was finished on all platforms. That way, when the 30 days were up, they could release it.... I mean, how could they not foresee that when the 30 days were over, that customers would ASSUME that they would get their product immediately.... I'm not a businessman so I can't really say whether that was a good decision business wise or not but, I can say that we as customers were led on to believe that we would receive our product on july 26th... one could say that this is our fault as customers for ASSUMING something that wasn't "set in stone" but, once again I do feel like we were led on....

all we can do is sit an patient.... Oh and 4get about a discount... Don't really see that happening...

PS3 Community, we all have been very patient waiting for an update. We received the 1.7 patch just this Thursday after waiting four months for an update. (April 5th.) We did not receive the quality we were looking for. For more information concerning Patch 1.7 please click the link in my signature, and please do respond professionally. Yes, this concerns this topic.
If Bethesda chooses to not to give us quality service then so be it. I for one have chose not to buy Dawnguard or future games that may come out. I for one, will be smart and choose to spend my money on something worth while. If we expect to be heard, you all should so the same. This has been going on since the release of Oblivion. Its high time we decided what we should do. Pay to poor service? Or save your money for something else worth while. I've made my choice, what is yours?

I've mentioned before that had Bethesda alluded to an approximate release date, and had it missed the mark, there'd still be angry folks. It would go from restaurant anologies to...oh, I don't know... baseball? Movies? Tacos?

The argument is rather moot overall in my opinion. Perhaps folks want more info and I understand this. We are told it's not cancelled but not ready yet.

Want a timeframe? Okay I'll provide one: anytime from now to six months. Happy?

Dude the least they could say is it won't be a while. They don't need to give us date and time.

If they said 6 months, then that'd be it. If they can't get it out by 6 months, I won't be back here. I won't care at all anymore. It'll be way way old news. Quicker if I bought the game for 360 and the DLC, gave it to a friend and played at their house.
