PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #4

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 9:17 am

PC / x360 Dawnguard is real bugfest, thanks to delay on PS3.

I would think a different team for the most part would be responsible for each system. People specialzing in each type of coding. I could be wrong though of course. If it is the case they need some better training for the PS3 coders. I've played a good amount of PS3 games with minimal bugs, but most not with as much customization.

Your anology is wrong. To put in terms of your bad anology; In the restraunt, you are entering, sitting down and ordering a dish that is not on the menu. You are then complaining to the chef that its not on the menu and stating that you should get it cheaper because its not on the menu. The rest of the customers are telling you that its not only illogical and asinine to demand a discount, its unfair on those who have already paid for the same identical dish at another restruant of the same chain for full price.

So no, no discount for you.

Dude, it's on the menu. You know its there, they're supposed to be selling it. They cut it short. It's more like you ordered a steak and the cooked the last piece of beef, and overcooked it. Then said we ruined your meal and we have no more. Then you say when will you restock. And they say who knows.

It was there, it was screwed up, and they have to fix it, but they won't tell us when it'd be fixed.

These guys are not going to be happy, ever. Trust me. We got the patch, which, to me, is awesome. Mounted combat, a few new things here and there, and overall the game feels a little better. But does anyone care? No. And when Dawnguard does come out the crying wont stop. Maybe for a split second but it will soon be, "my game is broke now!", "Zomg there was a giant walking backwards! *RAGE*", "they owe us a refund!", "They owe us an apology!", "how DARE they release such a buggy product!", What have they been doing this whole time they said they were working on PS3 DG?!", "they lied to us!", and of course, "im never buying another Beth product againeverfortherestofmylife!!!!!".

You'll see.... You'll see....

Honestly even when the game was freaking broke to start with, crashing every 20min, I didn't come on here. I came on here specifically because of the delay, and will be gone when it's out regardless of how broke it is unless it is literally game breaking.

That's complete nonsense and you know it. If Bethesda said the DLC won't release for another 6 months the PS3 users will spontaneously combust. Just look at all the outrage, chaos and nonstop complaint threads due to the 30 day exclusive deal. People were in a full uproar even when they thought they only had to wait 30 days. There's no way in hell you can tell me that if Bethesda came out and said it's going to be another six months that you or anyone else "would have been ok with that".

You even say yourself that "it is just a game afterall". That's exactly correct, it's a game, an entertainment product. Bethesda doesn't owe you or anyone else anything. It's their product and they can choose to do with it what they will. All of this falls under basic business 101. They wouldn't even have to release it on the PS3 if they didn't want to. It's their overall decision.

If you say that you would be ok with them delaying it another six months then why do you deserve a discount when others don't? That doesn't make any sense.

I'd be upset but I wouldn't sit here day by day.

I've been asking will it be days, weeks, months or a year. Answer that question bethesda and I'll get out of your hair. Most of us aren't complaining about it's not out yet, its the fact that they won't answer roughly when. They could say a while and the convo would shift to being how long exactly is a while and it'd just become speculation.

Yes, but why does Bethesda even owe you DLC? It's completely up to them on what they want to do with their product and whom they want to offer it to. Bethesda doesn't even have to release Dawnguard on PS3 if they didn't want to. They wouldn't even have to make it available to Xbox users. It's their product and with that comes the option to make it available to whom you so choose.

Edited for grammatical errors

If they initially said we wouldn't get it we wouldn't be here. At least most of us wouldn't. It'd end everything, I at least would move on. I only came here cause I heard it was coming to all systems, saw an add on youtube, checked out gameplay, saw it was out, then was thinking to myself what's going on?

Okay....honestly...i am sick of looking at the most ridiculous posts....a couple of things to keep in mind...

1. Pete Hines tweeted on August 3rd that Dawnguard is NOT cancelled...its just not done yet

2. NOBODY has the right to complain....NOBODY! Dawnguard is Beth's creation...if they dont want to release it for everyone...they dont have to, be lucky they ARE releasing it!

3. Without Beth, the company you are complaining about so much, there would be no skyrim...which means no Dawnguard...

So...with that said.....SHUT THE HELL UP!

Technically this is a complaint about complaints, using a bit of foul language :P

But yes calm down. You're the most excited person on this thread at this point.

Putting all the BS aside I think we all could agree that this whole situation could have been handled better. As someone else stated in another thread, I don't think Beth should have even released it and began the 30 day exclusive until it was finished on all platforms. That way, when the 30 days were up, they could release it.... I mean, how could they not foresee that when the 30 days were over, that customers would ASSUME that they would get their product immediately.... I'm not a businessman so I can't really say whether that was a good decision business wise or not but, I can say that we as customers were led on to believe that we would receive our product on july 26th... one could say that this is our fault as customers for ASSUMING something that wasn't "set in stone" but, once again I do feel like we were led on....

all we can do is sit an patient.... Oh and 4get about a discount... Don't really see that happening...

ooh I said that on one of the ended threads! Do I get a cookie!?!? xD

Lol all kidding aside, this would have been the best tactic in my opinion. But rather someone came back and blamed the customers for trying to rush bethesda and said why would they put off selling just for one console.

The issue here is people are saying Bethesda should not be biased to PS3, but it's not biased to PS3. The issue is that beth seems biased towards the other systems more, and we want a bit more equality so we don't feel like "third rate customers". We are not satisfied. It's taken 8 months to calm down the crashing of the game, we have delayed DLC, and all this other stuff going on. Still have bugs (some existing across both PS3 and 360 though), We are not saying be biased to PS3, we are saying give us something like you're giving EVERYONE else. Everyone else gets stuff before hand, we just want something to show even if we're last we have something.

We all clearly are not equal here and many of us are upset PS3 customers. If they really want to keep PS3 gamers for future games, get a new PS3 team. Cause I'm not gonna buy any new fallout or elder scrolls games for PS3. I used to play on 360 but its busted. Given some time it'll be better for me to fix it and just buy everything there.

And no I will not spend over 100 dollars to fix my 360, rebuy skyrim, and then buy dawngaurd. That's well over 200 dollars and that's ridiculous lol.

PS3 Community, we all have been very patient waiting for an update. We received the 1.7 patch just this Thursday after waiting four months for an update. (April 5th.) We did not receive the quality we were looking for. For more information concerning Patch 1.7 please click the link in my signature, and please do respond professionally. Yes, this concerns this topic.
If Bethesda chooses to not to give us quality service then so be it. I for one have chose not to buy Dawnguard or future games that may come out. I for one, will be smart and choose to spend my money on something worth while. If we expect to be heard, you all should so the same. This has been going on since the release of Oblivion. Its high time we decided what we should do. Pay to poor service? Or save your money for something else worth while. I've made my choice, what is yours?

Dawnguard will be my last buy assuming it comes out within a months time.

He is right we are the Customers, and that gives us the right to complain and ask stupid questions.
and for "Dawnguard is Beth's creation...if they dont want to release it for everyone...they dont have to" if the exclude a group of Gamers just because of what system they play on is discrimination.

This statement literally blew my mind...

Discrimination? Really?

I'm not even going to explain basic business... or even try to understand the logic behind this for that matter. I'm in complete awe with you guys...

I'm actually thinking about quoting that in my signature so others can experience that craziness.

If you're upset with Bethesda and don't agree with their business "tactics", then not buying anything else they put out is really the smartest thing to do.

All these people on here have been complaining, whining, moaning and groaning ever since they first heard about the temporary exclusive rights deal but they're just going to buy everything Bethesda puts out regardless. That's why it doesn't make sense for all these people to scrutinize the game developer for such "dirty business" and how terrible of a company Bethesda is yet they keep asking "when's Dawnguard going to be out? Is Dawnguard out yet?"

Oh and you do know there is a multiquote button right? Lol

I honestly can't believe what I am reading. WE ARE NOT ENTITLED TO DAWNGUARD! Everyone is complaining and making this wait worse. Everyone just needs to take a chill. It will come out soon...

I agree. What happened to patience? Some people are acting like their civil rights are being taken away or something.

Yes I know there a multiquote I'm very sorry xD

What happened was since I wasn't on all day long, a few pages got added. So I went by responding to specific statements one at a time rather than all at one lol.

But yes, I'm a disatisfied PS3 customer when it comes to bethesda it seems, and after dawnguard I won't get svcked into the hype and be all anxious cause now I really really do know what to expect. See, never coming onto the forums until a few days ago, I didn't know how bugged the PS3 version was compared to other consoles or anything. I didn't know about any exclusive rights (which I don't mind just let us know what we'll get and when, and if it's the same for both have them both ready and release it as it was agreed upon beforehand).

So after dawnguard again, last buy. If I fix my 360 I will go back most likely cause, things seem to work out better for them in general.

Well I was a bit anxious because in a month Ima be registering into the DEP program in military so I didn't know if the game would be out before I got shipped out.
