It gets even more worse or funny (depending on your POV. The reason they are appearently having so much trouble with dawnguard, is the save glitch that PS3 owners experience. What I want to know is one thing... Why doesn't gamesas just put someone infront of their version of dawnguard that they are working on, to get their general POV? That way, they can detirmine if it is as bad as they make it out to be.

But that would mean they have to care and do some work.

Beth ran into problems with the DLC and are now working with Sony to fix them.

Essentially, Bethesda has tapped out saying that they don't have the skill to put Dawnguard on PS3. And that admission has lent some weight to the questions that have been repeatedly asked since this sorry business all began. If they are to be believed now, they have even come to the point that they've had to go to Sony for help at this point. Compound that with the fact that Beth. is STILL actively releasing/crafting other DLC during this whole thing is just adding more fuel to the firestorm.

That's the barebones of where we are at in a paragraph.

Bethesda doesn't know if they will be able to fix Dawnguard. If they can't, there's a good chance the ps3 won't see future dlc.

Thanks for the update guys :-)

Originally I had thought the same, but someone told me that Bethesda was having similar issues with releasing DLC for Oblivion and were able to rectify the problem by having it released on the disc itself (Knights of the Nine on the standard edition, Knights of the Nine/Shivering Isles on the GOTY/5th Anniversary editions). I'm not sure if this is all true or not, but if it is, I hope Bethesda will at least be able to get the DLC available on the PS3 through the inevitable GOTY Edition of Skyrim.

Which is complete rubbish we could buy the DLC on PSN, KotN was given to the PS3 players for free with the disc (probably as an added enticement since the PS3 was so late turning up), since it was already released on the other platforms. Getting Shivering Isles ported to the PS3 would have been why there was a delay with that, and why some just never turned up at all, since the little extras were never ported, Bethesda was not as far as I know involved with porting anything to the PS3 for Oblivion. If it is not going to work as DLC it is not going to work in a disc version either. They do not get Dawnguard working there will be no GotY Edition for the PS3.

Thier will be a GOTY for PS3 cause Beth will say "hey remember them problems we had with the DLC will guess what we fixed them and thier on the GOTY all you have to do is buy it" but the GOTY will be worst than the base game itself because of the extra content.

That's because 4J studios ported Oblivion to the PS3 not Beth.

Edit: The GOTY added the vampire bug because of the Shivering Isles, but the Shivering Isles was ported but Beth so Beth will most likely break the game more with Skyrim GOTY.

I remember the most annoying bog I encountered with Oblivion on PS3 was the Cure for Vampirism quest was bugged. Then again I also never played one character for more than like 100 hrs.

You can catch vampirism and never be cured. That is NOT a minor bug.

just like fallout 3 we had delays for fallout 3 they release and guess what it turns your pretty good fallout 3 game into a game that will not stop lagging and freezing, what i think happened is that since skyrim was bad as fallout 3 dlc was that the dlc is worse then the one that fallout 3 had.

they also could have played it on the ps3 for the first time
Beth employee #1: hey what you doing?
Beth employee #2: playing dawnguard on the ps3
Beth employee #1: we have a ps3?
Beth employee #2: i found it in the basemant
Beth employee #1: oh cool how is it?
Beth employee #2: oh not bad *freeze*
Beth employee #1: that's a problem
Beth employee #2: oh let me just restart it
Beth employee #1: ok
Beth employee #2: lets do this pulls out sword *freeze*
Beth employee #1: we can't release this
Beth employee #2: we better delay it then

And thier Fallout DLC proving that adding more will wrack your game.

I can see there is still a lot of TENSION in this forum. Think about this if you will....

It has already been confirmed that Dawnguard is PLAYABLE for some on ps3....as a matter of fact, he mentioned that some would "not notice anything"

They are very close to having it ready to go....

Here is the question

Is Beth willing to throw away all that time, effort, money, and loyalties down the trash...when they are so close to having Dawnguard finished?

NO!

They are already too involved to give up on it. Just remember...Sony is helping now with some of the problems...just be patient.

To make everything clear, IF Dawnguard is to be released on PS3, a discount of the price has to be made. That or something extra, maybe Heartfire for free? Anyway, no person here wants to wait more than a month and than buy the damn dlc for full price.

Yeah I have vampirism, and now I am stuck with it literally forever since I cannot get it cured. It is fine with me though because I like Oblivion's vampires, and it makes the choice of becoming one that more of a choice with actual benefits and consequences.

On topic: I think we will get Dawnguard, but I think Bethesda has really messed up here. I am not that mad since I am trying to figure out how to get the overhaul mod for Morrowind so that will keep me occupied until I get Dawnguard.

To be honest I think this is some kind of stunt from them to make them think they care cause they never really cared about quility product on the PS3 before.

If DG if did come out then this is what I think will calm a lot of PS3 users down.

You can fix the vampire bug by changing your system settings to German go into the game give the women the bloodgrass save and quit game and chage you system settings backto english but make sure you haven't started the shivering isles or you have to restart it, sadly this doesn't work for the american ps3s

I can understand where your coming from.
From a business stand point....ps3 players are money....they NEED us to buy this DLC....it is a lot of money for them.

I honestly dont even know if they could AFFORD to not release the DLC to us.

If DLC = $20/purchase

5 purchases = $100

Now ...there are a lot more people than 5 who want this game......lets just use the number 5,000 for fun...

5,000 DLC purchases = $100,000

Now...would YOU pass up that kind of money....especially if you were SOOOO close to it being fixed??

HELL NO!

In Businees sense yes they can afford to let us go because MS money payed the ps3 bill so they're set.

It is a stunt. They never took the time to learn how to code on the PS3 properly, otherwise it would be out by now.

I think you might be in for a real letdown in the event that Bethesda can't get it working on PS3. Your optimism is certainly a nice switch from the doom and gloom most people are talking, but I think you might be a little too optimistic.
