There is no difference between GOTY and downloaded DLC. If they can't make dawnguard run well enough to download from PSN it won't appear on the ps3 period.
Shivering Isle wasn't released for PS3 until the game of the year edition. I'm stupid.

Its also available on PSN if it won't work as DLC it won't work on disk. The Shivering Isles was released on 360 a week after the base game was released for the PS3. Six months later the expansion was available either from PSN or by buying the GOTY editon.

Sounds probable.

I love bethesda, dont get me wrong, but they screwed up bad...

Why am i so surprised though? I've been screwed over since fallout 3... Every year i hope its different. every year im sorely dissapointed.

I guess i have fallout 4 to look forward to......i hope..

I rather dislike how Bethesda gives Sony users the shaft, while trying to make nice. In all honesty after Fallout New Vegas' bugs, and Skyrims initial bugs then this whole fiasco, I would much rather see bethesda just give up on Sony, than this constant chain jerking. And frankly this is something a customer should not be wanting, but I would rather not have the game at all than to have it, but have it so subpar that I feel like I have wasted my money on the game when I could have bought it for PC (Sorry Xbox players, I tried the 360 twice and both had video card errors that Microsoft wouldnt fix so this made me give up on them).

While I like Bethesda, I am amazed by the amount of people who defend them even when they clearly make mistakes. Imagine if this was EA or one of the other often "despised" companies and not Bethesda in this situation right now. I wonder if so many would be willing to defend them? My guess is probably not.

If this was the first time Bethesda had worked on the ps3 I would be a bit more willing to accept the whole ps3 is a tough console to work with. However, since they have worked with the console in the past, they clearly should know its strengths and weaknesses. Those who want to blame Sony need to remember that Bethesda was releasing statements before Skyrim came out saying the ps3 and 360 had reached a good place of parity. When Josh Sawyer started talking about the problems with FO NV and how they may relate to Skyrim, Bethesda( I believe Hines) replied with " No it isn't true. He brings up issues we solved long ago" Apparently you didn't solve them Bethesda.

Agreed, especially considering they had many of the same issues with New Vegas, (undoubtedly)Oblivion, and Fallout 3. I have to say I am starting to think the ps3 porting team may be a group of monkeys with keyboards that have 1s and 0s :brokencomputer:

EDIT: On a more serious note, I do agree that Bethesda is currently enjoying the protection of making great games, but the alienation of their fanbase is slowly eroding that (I know several PC players that are getting PO'd at bethesda for their treatment to PS3 gamers.)

Don't quite lose hope, if nothing else Game of the Year edition will probably have it.

Me included.

If they came out and said it's not coming I think it would relieve alot of anxiety in people. But many who are still hopeful would uproar, saying after all the time you've taken to try and get it running, and all the silence, and blah blah blah, that they're just gonna come right out and say, "nope :)"

After learning about their track record I'd find it much more efficient to stop freaking selling to the PS3. They can't make a non broken game then stop making the games. Other companies do it and I have no problem with it.

But all they want is money, and they know that with enough hype people will buy anything no matter how broken it is. And with promises of fixes, they'll stay behaved.

People who have dawnguard some are stuck in game breaking bugs. And again, the only reason I say that PC even got dawnguard is because of the existence of console commands.

And console commands don't help everone.

There have been cases where people couldn't help each other or figure it out on their own, so they emailed bethesda for a fix. And like a month later they get an email saying delete all saves, uninstall both dawnguard AND skyrim, and then reinstall and start over.

Typically it worked for people, but can you imagine how angry the people would be to give up their lvl 75 mage or whatever just to play the content that they just paid for and added on?

assuming game of the year comes out within a year for PS3 xD

After a years wait most people will have moved on. And with the elder scrolls online coming out, who knows what could happen.

QFT, I have absolutely no problem with a company not wanting to release a product on a certain platform. Heck if they had said "We are not releasing Skyrim for ps3" most I would have done is just said "Well thats crappy, guess I need to upgrade my computer." But instead the playstation gamers are getting the shaft from Bethesda....again. I was hoping Fallout New Vegas was a one off ordeal (I had fallout 3, and oblivion on PC so I was not aware of their attrocious track record) but it turns out it was not. Honestly I will probably start supporting more of the up and comer Console Companies, seems like they are the only ones that actually make an effort to address issues, and put out quality games, not just a rehash of the same story.

Good point.

I always find it funny when they give the advice to turn off the auto save feature. So why exactly did you put that in the game then?

I have the game on both 360 and ps3. The plan was both my wife and I could enjoy it at the same time, so we bought both at release. Unfortunately I started playing the ps3 version and the problems arose quickly. It actually froze on me during the cart ride at the beginning. The 360 version is better, but even that freezes up a fair amount and has broken quests.

Gone are the days of games that work on the first go, I honestly feel sorry for those living in very rural areas that have no internet to download fixes.

I had to turn off my autosave when I played on PS3 or it would crash every 5 minutes... so annoying...

And then it would still crash like every 45min. And when I actually die and forgot to save? -_- --> --> :banghead: --> :swear: -->

I find it funny how you siad your not here to start any trouble but insult poeple by saying they should have bought a console that 1. they may find inferior not superior 2.not to there likely and find the game on PS3 more intresting than that of the Xbox(this is were I am) and 3. dont want to waste 60 for online when they are already paying for there internet.

You may have to pay 60 dollars but a way better connection and no lag or server interuption crap.
Oh yea and a more secure network that is far less like to get hacked. you like what happened to the psn network

I thought Sony was hacked because they were targeted by Anonymous. I'm quite sure that if they were determined to hack the Xbox network they could. If you believe that Xbox can't be hacked maybe the Pentagon should ask them how they did it?

BTW, what does PSN hacking have to do with the Dawnguard release?

LMAO!!! thats a good one. had mine for over 7 years no troubles my ps3 had a meltdown and i called sony for help and they were gonna charge me 140 dollars to get it repaird after i paid 800 for it. ms fixed my xbox for 100% free sent a box and everything and to top it off they did it twice the second time they sent me a brand new xbox. my ps3 is still sitting in the conor as an oversized papper weight. and a reminder that ill never go back to sony. when ms is much more fan friendly. So i may have a grudge against ps3 but the thing that gets me the most is everyone complaining that bethesda hates ps3 is annoying there busting their ball trying to get you guys this dlc. maybe you should just step back and think that maybe the problem may be with the psn network or sony its self. and their the ones that dont care bout you.

Again bustin thier nuts that would be the first cause they never seemed to care before about the quility about thier products towards the PS3 cause it didn't stopped them with Skyrim realeseing the way it did. Also Fallout DLC is on the PSN Store so it's not PSN or Sony to blame, Pete Hine said it was to do with adding more to Skyrim so it has to do more with the game itself so if its has to do more with the game itself then Beth is to blame cause Skyrim is a mess on the PS3.

Still waiting on DG for PS3 and at this point I'm just.. meh. If it comes out, it comes out. If it doesn't I'll experience it vicariously through youtube and move on. In waiting I played Skyrim and prepared characters, old and new. Now, however, I decided to "kick it old school" and have another run with an all-time favorite of mine: FF6. I had searched almost daily for info on DG and now HF is out for Xbox this Tuesday. Now we can hear about how folks are building their houses and adopting orphans while PS3 users say "great.. but where's DG?".
