PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #15

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 1:02 am

Speaking of all these other wonderful games, not to mention the fall line-up is right around the corner, why not spend your $20 worth of Dawnguard money on a used game or put it towards a new one?

I know that's not much help to you guys but it would keep you busy since it doesn't look like Dawnguard is coming any time soon.

I got three games on preorder, AC3, AC3 Liberation for the Vita and BLOPS2 for my little sister.

AC3 is a must have, will put Skyrim back on the shelf, where it will probably stay.

Couple things... First, my question from the other thread never got answered so Ill ask again. Are there any other companies that release games across all platforms but only release the dlc on some? Because thats not cool and I want to know which other companies to watch out for.

Secondly, is anyone else not even considering buying Dishonored now because of this? It was near the top of my list for a while, and if I were a Xbox player it still would be, but as a ps3 player... Ill either wait or just never get it. There are plenty of other games to buy and play from companies that dont treat me like a second rate consumer. And thats no threat to Beth by the way, its just the way it is and at this point there is nothing they can do to change my feeling on the matter. It is sad though.

I feel ya, but I dont really regret buying skyrim. I do wish I would have know that this would happen though becasue then I would have just waited to buy it used and I certinly wouldn't have gone to the midnight release, tell everyone I know how awesome it is, and spent my powerup rewards on the poster. I would have just treated it like just another game.

Dishonored went up in my books when Bioshock Infinite got delayed, but after all this, it's at the bottom of my concerns now. Much like any other game under Bethesda's label, I don't plan on getting it until it's on sale, and I have a decently powerful gaming PC, which is probably a long way off.

Right now though, I just want to make sure that when I do get a gaming PC, it can run Watch_Dogs on the best settings. That's the game I'm most looking forward to now.

That and MGS: Ground Zero (though Revengeance holds no appeal to me)

Now we have Hearthfire coming out in 2 days. Nice. We can design and build a home. Start a family maybe even raise children. Yay. I get to play Elder Scrolls The Sims?.

Hell, we don't even get that. According to the announcement and the trailer, even Hearthfire is only being released for XBox Live. No telling how long we'll have to wait for even that.

And I love that they say something like "it's a problem we're not sure we can fix." So, PS3 users may never get Dawnguard?! Nice.

Or that "its not the only DLC we're working on." Understandable, but shouldn't it be a major focus? I work in retail and if I were opening a new store and told my customers that "I understand you're unhappy that our Electronics department is unfinished, but we have other departments to work on. We'll get to it when we can," I'm pretty sure we'd lose those customers. Food for thought, Bethesda...

I've heard good things about Dishonored, so far. But that's mostly because Bethesda didn't have a hand in its development, they just slapped their name on it. It was actually made by a company that knows what they're doing.

I'm still not buying it though. If companies see that PS3 owners are sick of Bethesda's treatment of them, and choose to disassociate with them, I'd be ok with it.

I had dishonored as a must get, now it's a must forget.
AK on BF3 will keep me entertained until AC3 arrives.

I feel the opposite. I regretted pre-ordering BF3. By now, I'd rather get Dishonored.

I don't get it Bethesda is saying the PS3 version of Dawnguard will run poorly for some people while other people will not have any performance issues. Isn't that the currently case with the PS3 version of Skyrim?

No dishonored for me purely because of association with Bethesda, sorry whoever developed you dishonored it looks fun but, guilty by association.

I'm assuming Bethesda has its name there because they funded your development and in turn are receiving payment for each sale of the game. As time goes on I can only look down on Bethesda for its current decisions, the path it's chosen. And it is quite their right to feel some suffering of sales because of such.
