Wish i could muster even a tad bit of optimism at this point. I'm personally just waiting for them to formally announce they have officially tapped out.

You and me both.

Wish i could muster even a tad bit of optimism at this point. I'm personally just waiting for them to formally announce they have officially tapped out.

The second we see the announcement for the next Fallout game is when they will be done with Skyrim, broken or not.
There will be no official announcements, just quiet abandon and ignoring. The PS3 issues section of the forum will eventually get one or two posts by Gstaff letting people know that the programmers have all moved on to other projects, and that will be it.
That is how they have done it with every single other title they have released for the PS3. They just gave up and left them broken.
Of course, they will still have the audacity to release a GOTY, Ultimate Edition, or some other money grab. Still broken of course, but they have all the DLC included! That brings the question, how will they do that with the PS3 version of Skyrim if there is no DLC?

Because they have the DLC and it exsists, it just hasn't been released.

DLC works. Pete Hines says himself. But it does not work correctly for all. The question asked Pete Hines is: Is the DLC works on the PS3 version, which is mostly sold in the world?

or more simply, on what version of the PS3, the DLC does not work?

People are not idiots. If they say it works on that version and that version does not work, it is more understandable.

There seems very little chance that we'll see DLC for SKyrim on our PS3 consoles. Supposedly they've been "working" on this since Dawnguard first showed for the XBOX. If Sony is really involved with Bethesda, A JOINT EFFORT towards improving the base game so that it has the capacity to run DLC, you'd think they'd made an appraisal by now, and that Bethesa would have the fortitude to either give us an update towards their solution or give us the sad news. Words have been said, but nothing which means anything towards providing clarity. One thing for sure, Bethesda DOES NOT EQAUL quality when it comes to customer relations. At this point I'm hoping their leadership pays the full price for this BS. Waiting for the house to burn down to extinguish the blaze, never a good idea..

To be honest, at this point I just want to know what they are going to be doing now that we can all see that it doesn't and will never work. Are we going to be compensated in anyway? Are they going to be (finally) releasing a patch that fixes the original game in order to attempt to get us the dlc? Or, more to their character, are they simply going to continue to ignore, belittle, and forget us? We can hope for the best but at this point we all need to be realistic and realize that Bethesda just doesn't care about the PS3 version of this game and will continue to move on creating new content without us.

We might get something tomorrow I think. Well if they can stop playing dress up that is.

Remind me..... "No update at this time" counts as an update right? :stare:

Pretty much yup, that's the summary of all the updates we've been given.

I know. But my wife tells me to try to be more positive!

I do have the feeling though that PS3 will get the dlc though. Mainly so Beth can sit there and tell us how they listen to us and worked sooooo hard for us.

The reason I have low optimism is this isn't the first time it's happened. They have a track record for this sort of thing, and they're just enforcing said record.

That's how it is with every system so far though.

Some people can't get it to work on their 360 all the way through, and some people on PC have gotten huge game breaking bugs as well.

So what does the PS3 have that those two don't?

A growing percentage of fans that just won't buy anything else related to the company?

I'm in agreement with most here. If one more dlc is announced for xbox or PC, my skyrim copy is done. They can't expect other people to be satisfied with their copy of skyrim knowing other people have an upgraded version. I predict Gamestop will have many copies of skyrim in stock in the near future.

I'm a sentimentalist, so i'm personally giving Bethesda 'til 11/11/12(lol my birthday incidentally). Then that door is shut and as much as i have been an TES junky since college, the series and its maker are done as far as i'm concerned.

Just out of curiosity... and as an ignoramus, I'm probably talking out my [censored] here... but is it remotely possible, given the DLC problems with Skyrim are apparently memory-usage related, that Skyrim+DLC could be made to run using the cloud-storage infrastructure in place via the PSN. I imagine, these days, remote memory via Broadband is probably sufficiently fast to provide acceptable gaming, indeed there are a variety of companies proposing consoles whose working memory would be entirely remote. Where better to keep all those notorious discarded iron swords, embalming tools, cabbages and what-not than a server?
Obviously this would mean you couldn't play any expansions without a broadband connection, but you need one to buy them anyway (possible GOTY's notwithstanding); and I guess you would need PSN+, but that would be only as extortionate as what Microsoft requires for full use of many games anyway... ideally, free PSN+ membership with DLC, or vice-versa free DLC with PSN+ would also be a nice bit of restitution for the fans.

Like I said, I'm shaky on the technical issues, but does the working memory required by the game have to be on RAM? I'm given to understand the game already shuffles data between RAM and HD to play, why not between server, RAM and HD.

Well, dishonoured looks good, unfortunately that company buddied up with the wrong company, because it will not be seeing my support. And I will only be picking up TES games for PC, at least with PC the odds of you getting hosed are minimal.

As to the psn+ its not financially worth it for either company to offer free goodies like that.

Wasn't really concerned about free goodies... I was just wondering whether the likes of Skyrim+DG+HF could run using remote or cloud-memory. Likesaid, I'm clueless, but it would seem a hypothetical solution.

No. The cloud memory is used for storage only.

To be totally fair(and yes, i too am not supporting any project remotely affiliated with Bethesda for the foreseeable future), Arkane is a sister-company to Bethesda under the Zenimax umbrella. They didn't 'buddy up' so to speak.

Bethesda needs to stop pushing the limits of our patience by playing dress up on the weekends and giving us the same "update" over and over again. They need to get the [censored] job done and they need to do it now. I also want them all to stop saying they "understand our frustration", because they don't, their minds cannot even begin to comprehend the sheer extent of our frustration or the hatred and rage that was spawned from it. It shouldn't be taking this long to get Dawnguard out on the PS3, it shouldn't, I am willing to bet that the reason why they are having such a hard time with this is because they made the problem worse than it originally was. Everyone knows how incompetent they are, so the idea that they made something that was once not such a big deal worse isn't, in my opinion, that far-fetched.

Do you even read these threads at all Gstaff? All we are asking for is a simple update. Is that really too much to ask? Since all you seem to do is copy and paste your comment from August it would be very safe for us to assume that no progress at all has been made since June. Are you willing to prove me wrong? If you are going to even attempt to earn back the trust and respect of your fan base then you need to start communicating with us.

They claim to read them. They just answer the easy questions, not the ones that would possibly make them look worse than they already do.

Anyways, the Mechromancer is being released for Borderlands 2 tomorrow! They finished her early. So, I'm pretty much done playing Skyrim for the forseeable future. Still mad, though. And I'll still be waiting for answers that we'll probably never get.

Sure this has been asked before but, what features CAN be implemented from Dawnguard onto the PS3?

Not too bothered about the quests and vampires, I'd like to see the face-changer though and the dragonbone weapons?

And, if Dawnguard does eventually come out and there's no sign of some compensation I will be well and truly fckued off.

If we will not see DLS end of the year, they will get zero interest from users of the PS3 in 2013. I personally will not buy.

When you get right down to it, most of the features ppl want from Dawnguard could have been present from the start way back on 11/11/11 on all three platforms imo. Face-changer, ammo crafting, the continuation of the Dragon bone item line, etc.; these kind of things just scream to me that we should have had them from the start.

Now the question of real relevance to PS3 Skyrim customers should be, "what features WILL be implemented from Dawnguard onto the PS3?" And that answer is sadly none of them if tweet....err...Pete Hines is to be believed. He said a ways back that Bethesda was going all or nothing in regards to Skyrim DLC-either the PS3 would get the whole thing or nothing at all.
