Some other relevant information:

It has been http://www.bethblog.com/2012/08/02/dawnguard-ps3-update/ that the PS3 version will be delayed a bit as they are still working to ensure acceptable performance on the platform.

Gstaff, on 30 August 2012 - 06:52 PM, said:

Earlier in the month, we provided an update on Dawnguard's status for PS3.

It's been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where we're at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when you're talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1413248-ps3-release-for-dawnguard-thread-23/# to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to bring you this content.

We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms. When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we’ll keep doing our best to return that.

Additional information from Pete Hines in response to Dawnguard:

"Yes, it’s just doesn’t perform well in all scenarios. Some folks would be fine, some would not.”

One of Bethesda’s top PR execs, Pete Hines, (who holds the position of VP of PR and marketing), tweeted to a question that concerned the release date, saying, “No, we will not release it if we can’t get the performance to an ‘acceptable’ standard. Our stance on this has not changed.”

According to Gstaff http://www.bethblog.com/2012/10/04/hearthfire-available-on-steam/comment-page-1/#comment-278242:

Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10:57 am:

We haven’t given up. We’re still working to see what’s possible.

Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 10:15 pm:

Our team is still working to make PS3 content available on PS and doing everything possible to make it a possibility.

Well, in the defense of the negativity, Bethesda has made no announcement whatsoever that we're ever getting DLC, they haven't given us any updates of substance in quite some time, that patches are simultaneously becoming less frequent AND less substantial in terms of the amount of bugs they're fixing, and signs point to Bethesda trying to put the emphasis on their newer games to get media coverage to stop covering whatever is going on that keeps them from being able to get any DLC whatsoever available for people who play on the PS3. The only hint of positive news at this time is a line of code in a beta patch on the PC, which could be altered or removed entirely by the time we actually get our hands on it. It wouldn't be the first time our patches have been different (we didn't get Dawnguard trophies in 1.6 like everyone else did when we got 1.6/1.7 [80 days after it was available on other platforms with absolutely no explanation as to why we had such a considerable delay]) And as far as I can remember, they still have yet to apologize for any of this.

So yeah. I think negativity at this point is justified

They are not pulling media's attention cause they want it off Skyrim's problems, Every game developer pulls the media attention to a new game when they release one. Has nothing to do with whats wrong with a previous title, its standard game industry practice.

They said that they would not like to release it until it is at an "acceptable standard". My only question is what do they consider acceptable? In general Skyrim on the PS3 is a mess. I feel like they did not look into the hardware enough and just gave us a half decent port. I have nothing against Bethesda, but I think if they are going to release multiplatform it should be the same great experience. If I go to a diner, I want the same menu item that everyone else is getting, not an incomplete version. I just really hope that Bethesdas next post is a little more insightful to wether or not they can deliver the DLC much of the fanbase would like to play without switching consoles. Your games always create amazing worlds for us Bethesda, and I believe you can get the programming on PS3 up to par. In the words of Zues from Immortals (A great spin on mythology IMO) "Prove, me, right"

Do you reckon they'll bring Hearthfire and Dawnguard out at the same time, if it eventually comes to PS3?

It would be great if they did and at a discount :)

you can forget the discount... won't happen. But they will probably release DG and HF together with the new DLC. With the bad communication here from Bethesda, it will probably just suddenly appear in the PS Store..

Doesn't seem like many care for Skyrim DLC on PS3 anymore. These threads move really slow now.

Most of us have given up hope and moved on to another company, or we are serving out temporary bans due to flashes of anger and frustration.
I think the only thing that will raise an eyebrow will be when the sales of the next Fallout game for the PS3 console resemble the apathy in the forums.

That's completely inaccurate, Bigglesworth. There are many, like me, that just joined this blog to show a continuing and growing disgust with this situation. And some have been banned for a period of time because the blog censored their comments. And there are really only so many times that you can post "This svcks!" on here before you want to put your fist through the screen. When we reach that point, that's when we start trading e-mails and skype numbers and start talking in other arenas about what else we can do about this, including whether we should all start talking to class action, entertainment industry attorneys...

Yeah, I do believe that any real talk of attorneys would be immediately deleted and the user banned on these forums. Generally, businesses frown upon that kind of talk in their own house.

I really wish the mods would stop posting that the PS3 version will be delayed "a bit". It's pretty obvious that's not the case.

I am sure they will have no delay once they are ready for release. Only a technical reason should delay one or the other if that happens.
