Any of these make it into the DawnGuard DLC?

I don't remember anything about crying child, but the rest is in the DLC.

Ok i'll start, how big are the new landmasses, can we customzie the two stongholds and did you enjoy it?

Soul Cairn isn't HUGE, and there isn't too much to do as the trailers suggested, but the big secret here is the Forgotten Vale, an immense "landmass" of sorts that you find deeper into the quest line.

As far as customizing the fort/castle...they are upgraded/furnished somewhat as you progress into the quest lines, but the end results are still filled with boxes/cobwebs/not quite what you'd expect. If you're expecting a payed clean up similar to the Dark Brotherhood, there is none.

Is soul cairn the only new landmass?
werebears?

Achievements?

There's the Forgotten Vale, which is found deeper into the quest-line. It's HUGE, Soul Cairn is tiny in comparison.

NO WEREBEARS.

FROST GIANTS, Actually no...Can you write a detailed review that says its pros and cons with no spoilers?

I'm not very good with reviews, otherwise I'd write one up. You'll find Frost Giants in the Forgotten Vale, a huge landmass of sorts found later into the main questline.

Are there any other pros to join the Dawnguard, besides being able to hire trolls and crossbows?

No no, they just upgrade your howls. One last perk after ice wolves lets you summon werewolves, btw.

Ok, last question. You can only have one of the three upgraded howls at a given time, right?

Armor: (Posted what I can remember immediately)

Spoiler
Heavy Dawnguard Armor set (Heavy)
Heavy Dawnguard Shield
Auriel's Shield
Light Dawnguard Armor set (Light)
Ancient Falmer Armor (Light, no helmet)
Hardened Falmer Armor set (Heavy)
Heavy Falmer Armor set (Heavy)
Royal Vampire Robes (Harkon's/Serana's armor)
Vampire Robes (cloth)
Vampire Armor (Light Armor)
Vampire Boots (Light Armor)
Vampire Gloves (Light Armor)

Lycanthropy:

Spoiler
Aela can turn you into a werewolf once more, if one so chooses.

Soul Cairn:

Spoiler
You can visit multiple times, it's a decent size but is nowhere near the size of Blackreach. This isn't the biggest landmass in the DLC, though.

Joining Dawnguard as Vampires first

Spoiler
Unfortunately, you must go to the Dawnguard first, and then return Serana to the Vampires to join them. Technically, when you first go to the Dawnguard you don't officially "join" them, though. They did this to let players get a preview of both sides before choosing.

DLC side quests

Spoiler
There are a few lengthy side quests, not too many, but they do exist. One in specific has to do with the book "The Aetherium Wars" and has a choice of 3 prizes at the end. It's a lengthy quest that will take you a few hours, and will give you a journal later on, and not help you at all. (No quest markers, you have to find everything based on the journal given to you.

As for the DLC length, I played it for around 50 hours before beating the Dawnguard side, but it's different for everyone. I imagine everybody to get at LEAST 20-25 hours out of it.

Awesome stuff.

What about arrow and bolt crafting? How many types of new arrows and bolts? How many crossbows and new bows?

FV is a large hidden area in Skyrim where the temple of Auriel is.
VL form is obtained by joining the Volkihar. Glowy eyes are now default for ALL Vamps in the game. VL Vamp and Thin-Blood Vamps are the same besides the Thin-Bloods cant turn into the VL

Vampires hate the sunlight, it weakens and harms them. The sun is what sustains life on earth... trees, plant's, everything would wither and die. And when the plant life goes so do we! No air to breath. Also werebears were just a joke for people looking for leaks so one of the beta testers decided to make a joke related to the avi they had inwhich was in the gamejam video.

I asked because I had heard a rumor that the vampires weren't actually blocking out the sun to expand their power and reach, but actually because there was some prophecy the sun would kill all vampire life in a certain year and they were trying to prevent it. Was wondering if there was any truth to that or if the vampires are typical "herp derp we r evul."

Also what's the story behind the Volikhar? Do they explain why they're so radically different from their former lore description or are they given abilities that tie into their lore in Immortal Blood?

Are vampire lords a new strain of vampirism? Or did they take away stage 4 and give no choice in the matter. Also did they actually take away the drawbacks of stage 4 in the first place? Did they add any new drawbacks?

There are somewhat 2 seperate strains, but they are exactly the same minus the VL transformation.

Contracting vampirism from a regular Vampire will give you all the normal Vamp stuff, and Contracting it from Harkon/Serana gives you the normal vamp stuff PLUS VL transformation.

People no longer attack you at stage 4.

Ok, last question. You can only have one of the three upgraded howls at a given time, right?

Correct, you still have to switch totems at the Underforge.

Awesome stuff. What about arrow and bolt crafting? How many types of new arrows and bolts? How many crossbows and new bows?

There are arrows of every type able to be crafted, as well as Dragonbone Arrows.
They also added Sunhallowed Elven Arrows, and Bloodbathed Elven Arrows.

Crossbows:

Crossbow
Enhanced Crossbow
Dwarven Crossbow
Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow

Bolts:

Steel Bolt
Dwarven Bolt
Steel Bolt of Exploding Fire/Frost/Shock
Dwarven Bolt of Exploding Fire/Frost/Shock

Are there any other pros to join the Dawnguard, besides being able to hire trolls and crossbows?

Spoiler
Dawnguard get the ability to Craft/Buy every crossbow/bolt I listed above, while Vampires cannot craft any of them and only get the non-upgraded "crossbow" and "steel bolts", Dawnguard get a choice to become Vampire Lord from Serana at the end of the quest line. Both sides can "blot out the sun" if they want to. Dawnguard get two husky pets, armored trolls, around 5 or so new followers, amongst other things

The FV is accesible late in the mq. Pretty sure you can become a VL as many times as you like.

You can cure and become a Vampire Lord as many times as you want.
Spoiler
Serana can change you as well, after you beat the quest lines. Even if you side with the Dawnguard

The Forgotten Vale is a huge landmass you find much later into the main questline.

Larkon seeks the phophecy to free his people butt has let it become a sick obsession. However there is more to the prophecy.
Spoiler
Basicly the prophecy was written by someone who wanted to get vengence upon a god. To try and ruin the connection they had to the world.

I wouldn't say we learn that much about their past... I never really delved to much into the storyline for vampres though. I tried but I'm more of a Dawngaurd sorta guy.

Volkihar called Vanilla Vamps Thin-Bloods, You can get more out of the game by joining the DG and still be a vamp (Unfair much?) after the MQ, Temple of Auriel is in the FV and yu will get there if you follow the quest line
