Questions for the Ponies

For the millionth time...What's the deal with the shoes?

They're PRETTY!

Do you prefer guys with a certain hair color? Or hair style?

Personally I prefer shorter hair on guys, long hair (below the ear) just looks... feminine? I dunno, not attractive at all. No preference for colour.

Chest/facial hair -- Good or bad?

Yes please :3

Metrosixuals -- Yes or no?

Obviously a guy who can take care of his appearance and knows proper hygiene is ideal, but if you enjoy shopping as much as I do then I'll be a bit worried :L

Let's face it, we're never gonna understand y'all, but you can't blame a guy for trying, right?

Others can ask stuff too, this is just off the top of my head.

What shoes? I've only got about 30 different pairs. At least I can fit all my shoes and clothes in 2 wardrobes, my mother needs 6 and still complains about having nothing to wear :D

So long as they have hair its good. Sorry if you're bald

Too much chest or facial hair bad, some fine.

Depends on the metrosixual.

I like boots. Does that count?

Nope.

Good!

No. Well, to an extent at least.

Okay ladies.., now for a tough one.

Can anyone tell me how the hell woman's intuition works?

Is there any scientific basis for it, and how can we graft it onto men?

I think women are better at picking up subtle cues from others than men are, like body language and tone. Men tend to see what's right in front of them and take things more at face value.

Women probably spend a lot more time anolysing relationships and people than men do.

All just theory...so no one come along and cyberslap me for stereotyping men. ;)

What is it they say, something like speech only being about 10% of face-to-face communication; probably a slight exaggeration, but the point is well made, I think. Although often a bit socially clueless, I find myself very tuned in to elements of people's facial expressions and can often see what's their motivation, just a shame I don't have the confidence to trust what I see: been caught out a few times by dismissing my own better judgement...

You'd be amazed how much you can learn about a person from watching their body language. I've actually been practising it for a while now and I'm getting pretty good at reading people. With the people I'm close to I'm even starting to recognize speech patterns and words associated with emotions.

I can usually guess correctly how my best friend is feeling just by talking to him via IM. :P

I have a question for the ladies here :D

Manly men or...whatever the opposite of that is. Do you like guys who spend more time than you choosing an outfit in the morning and fixing their hair, or do you like manly guys? Y'know, strong, hairy men who are capable of fixing your car (and believe that they can fix everything else as well... with emphasis on the word believe :P)

Listen.. either we fix it, or we break it to such a degree that replacement becomes inevitable.

Either way, whatever it was works again.. capice? :stare:

Honestly Exo sometimes I worry about you, son.

Manly men, for sure. I don't want him to be all sloppy and dirty 24-7, but when it comes down to it, he better be able to kill spiders and not squeal like I do.

Yup, sounds logical.

In some ways I was disappointed when I successfully fixed my laptop, it meant I couldn't justify getting a new one. :(

I can pay someone to fix the car, I can't pay someone to share my interests and concerns.
Also just because a man cares about his appearance (which is good) doesn't mean hes going to be technically incompetent.
On the other hand if hes a man who believes he can fix everything but can't well hes best given a hobby and a shed to practice it in. That way he can't do too much harm.

I don't care about them being "manly" per se (and I hate "macho") but I do like them to be practical and not "fussy" or "high-maintenance". They don't have to be able to rebuild my entire engine but knowing some basic handyman stuff is always a plus.

Altho, I've now been totally spoiled by having a hubby who is both electronically handy (pc-tech, home/general purpose etc.) and handyman handy (car, plumbing, construction). Geek+handyman is definitely an awesome combo to have around and I would miss it horribly.

Shoes- it is more about whether or not they are into fashion. Plenty of guys with shocking amounts of shoes and clothes. Some people feel better in new clothes/shoes. Of course once they are no longer new they tend to lose their charm.

Hair style-varies for both of us. I like girls with many different styles. There are so many different styles you are bound to find many you like. Most can change the way you look completely though. I have been told I look good in a different way with both long and short hair. Long hair makes me look like I'm in a band or something and short hair makes me look buff and athletic apparently. I don't really get it but my point is that your hair can change your overall look so whatever style you get will appeal to different people.

Hair color- personally I am not a big fan of blondes. I like brunettes. But I have and will(if im single)date blondes and red heads. But a cute face with dark hair and green or dark eyes just makes me have one of those stupid derp smiles every time. Again I doubt any Color would appeal to every girl or even most. Best advice for hair color I could say is try to make sure it is not grey or white. But the. Some girls WILL like those colors.

Chest Hair- I have a hit and miss with this. Some of my gf love it and some hate it while a rare few are indifferent. I have a moderately hairy chest with minimal if any significant backhair. From what I can gather, girls do not like back hair under any circumstances. Probably a few exceptions and many will likely not be bothered by it but they would probably still prefer it to not be there. It is also worth mentioning that you probably need to fit into a certain hairy category for it to work for some girls. Scraggly hair does not really look good but could be sparse enough to work, or to little and the girl wants a big hairy full chest of manly voluptuous chest hair. I think butt hair is a universal no though. I know I sure as hell would not like to see that on anyone in just about any situation.

Facial Hair- hit and miss again. Luckily I can shave pretty easily. This really is most important if you can grow a full blown beard or not. A half ass beard just looks messy. Most girls tell me I should shave, my beard still does not grow in the best until about 2-3 weeks when it is about 2 inches long lol then I 'groom it' but I find that way to much of a pain in the ass. Weird because I got all that chest hair though.

Metrosixual- got to be honest, I don't like it but I can understand the appeal of a girl wanting a guy that is neat and clean and always tries to look their best. Probably fun to take shopping too. Not me though I am the as soon as we get there lets gtfo kind of guy. It is a real tribute to my patience and awesomeness with how much I have been shopping. Of course my gf doesn't appreciate my efforts...lol

I'm not really into fashion, but I am the owner of approximately, er... well, a lot of shoes. Less clothes storage means more space for shoes! :)

I guess I'm not. I have three pairs, each with their own assigned use. My normal shoes, my dress shoes and my steel toes.

Then my brother has about five different pairs of running shoes.

For the millionth time...What's the deal with the shoes?
The same deal as is with the tools, or cars, or sports. Some girls like shoes. I happen to like shoes. I have around forty pairs. I take good care of my shoes. I like sandals, sneakers, hiking boots, dress boots, pumps, slingbacks, bedroom slippers, stillettos. I confess, I have not bought a new pair of shoes for myself in over a year.

Do you prefer guys with a certain hair color? Or hair style?
I am partial to black or dark brown hair, but have dated blond and red haired men as well. Hair color is not a deal breaker. A bad attitude, however, is.

Chest/facial hair -- Good or bad?
I do indeed find both facial and chest hair to be attractive. Hell, back hair doesn't bother me. Hair is ticklish, tactile. I however, draw the line at a man who hogs up my hair product and spends an unusual amount of time on his appearance.

Metrosixuals -- Yes or no?
That depends on how vain he is. If he's spending three hours in the bathroom plucking his eyebrows and moistureizing his feet, we are going to have issues. I am lucky, as a mom, to get fifteen minutes to myself.

As for manly men, it depends. I don't want a macho, sixist man, but I do find mechanical inclination fascinating in males. My husband is good with automotives, electronics/electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, tile, small mechanics, and demolishing stuff. He however, hates to cook, and it is not one of his talents.
