The UESP wiki page for Skyrim has some details on Vampirism, and it sounds exactly the same Oblivion's. It's probably from the same sources that other posters got their info from.

Unless the Volkihar are still around and have a decent system for their Vampirism, there is absolutely no way i will play as a vampire.

I would say don't write it off until you've tried it.

That's just disgusting. That sounds EXACTLY like Oblivion vampires, which were a joke. I've ranted before about this, but now I'm so upset I'm going to rant again.

How much SENSE does it make to have vampires that can ONLY feed on sleeping people and it doesn't even kill them? This is a game where you can join a gang of assassins and kill people for money and other bonuses. You can even kill people for sport if you want to, and as long as you don't get caught, there's no consequences. You'd THINK that in a game like this, becoming a vampire, one who gains eternal youth and power by drinking the blood of others, that you'd becoming a fearsome killing machine.

But NO! You turn into a wrinkly, passive, pillow puff person who only occasionally sips a witto' bit o' blood from a sleeping victim in sneak mode. And if you have yer witto' sip every three days, you'll have NO powers, the sun won't bother you at all and blah blah blah.

The COUNT on SESAME STREET is a better vampire than the stupid Oblivion vampires. BOO! HISS!!!

I HATE the abomination that Oblivion vampires are. They are a disgrace to vampirekind the world over!

I probably won't be a vampire if it means being just like an oblivion vampire. I hated that, being out in the sunlight was horrible then.

I don't think they are. It sounds as if they're using the joke vampire system from Oblivion, which means that the vampires are indistinguishable from regular men and mer.

There is however a chance that those could be the Volkihar, but it's unlikely.

okay so they are using the same feeding system that doesnt mean that they will be the same as the cyrodillic vampires and i understand that it doesnt mean that they wont. but heres some food for thought cyrodillic vampires dont have a fledgling stage so odds are skyrims vampires will be similar yet different than there cyrodillic kin.

Why do people keep saying thetes wetewolfs in the retail game? they have said no to that and said no coment to DLC werewolfs.
