I'm really dissapointed.

So, you have $100. $60 for game + free month. 40 left over is almost 3 more months. You can play for 4 months with nothing extra you need to buy (cash item goodies in your words.) Why not see if you think it's worth it in those 4 months? Heck, even 1 free month will tell you if it's worth a sub. Personally, I end up spending a LOT more on so called F2P games than I do on sub based games. I get addicted to convenience items, etc.

Nothing to forgive. It might or might not fail. But until I get bored with ESO, I'll pay my 50 cents a day and enjoy it.

There have been so many threads on this... so here you go:

1) Guild Wars 2 svcks. That's not just my opinion, that is a lot of players opinions... when arguing why a game shouldn't be sub based, don't use GW2 as a reason.

2) If you don't think ESO is worth paying $15 dollars a month for, when just seeing a movie in the theatre costs 10... then don't play it. 15 a month is cheap for the amount of entertainment you will get from ESO.

Even if I play for a few hours a month I get my worth out of it but others don't see it that way.

I know, right!!

Like if Zenimax makes a game with a subscription model that doesn't appeal to those who don't want a subscription model... the nerve!

I guess if you say 2+2=5 enough times then it will be true because I don't see how this will be successful. ESO is going to need to be unique and not a WOW clone in order to succeed, otherwise it'll go F2P/B2P within a year.

This is a circular argument. They will just come back and say a lot of people like it, bla bla bla.

If they don't want to play ESO, there no point in trying to talk them into it. If you think about it, do you really want them to play ESO if they really don't want to pay for it?

Now you have the circular argument that a movie is not a game, bla bla bla. :)

Again, we won. Enjoy that we get to play ESO and they won't.

From what we have seen so far, and by what the devs have said their design goal is, you don't think ESO will be unique? I'm so excited about this game.

So in 30 days you can't play the game for 4 hours? Because in 4 hours it has already been worth it.

I'm sorry if you can not afford to play ESO. However, it is a luxury it. Not everyone can afford luxury.

I hope things pick up in your life and you can earn 15 dollars more in a months time.

I'm not a debate champion >.> But I'm getting tired of these posts praising GW2 and people being too cheap to pay 15 a month. A gaming computer costs 700 min. but 180 over a year is too much for an online game you enjoy?

If the man can not afford 15 dollars a month, there is no reason to give him a hard time. :)

Just wish him well in life and hope things get better for him.

You must not be paying that much attention to this game if you think it's anything like a WoW clone. Outside of both of them being a themepark MMO it's no where close to being a WoW clone.

It's no skin off your nose if they choose not to play ESO, right? :)

Let them play GW2 or watch paint dry or whatever they can afford. We get to play ESO. Be happy. :icecream:

I normally play MMOs for long periods of time and it has saved me tons of money. I played wow for 6 years and spend 180 every year and didn't buy any other games. As soon as I quit in just a few months I had already bought several console games at 60 bucks a piece which already took me over the budget wow cost me for a year.

BTW GW2 is a lot less populated now, I got on it awhile ago and there really wasn't that many people on doing stuff.

What will make ESO unique? Apart that it's in set in the TES universe?

My only worry is that they will switch to a F2P/B2P system before giving their P2P model a chance.

Combat and skill trees. Their progression is very unique. You have an open class system each ability you get levels up separately from your level and then you can morph the ability which means you changes what it does..... level it up another 5 times and you can morph it again. Any class can use any weapon and wear any armor. Mounts level up and can carry [censored], they have the best possible PVP system a game can have that is completely different than world of warcraft. Need I say more?

You are right.. It might not be successful. Can't really argue either way. Nobody can see the future. Until then, I will enjoy ESO and you can do whatever it is you plan to do.

100% agree. WoW clones svck. If it makes you feel any better, I played at quakecon and IMHO, it is not a WoW clone. However, that is for everyone to decide for themselves.

Skyrim like combat with amazing graphics, the character creation, the class system where you are free to use any armor, any weapon you want, etc. What other MMO can be played in 1st or 3rd person with such high quality graphics? And yes, the TES universe is a huge bonus!
