I'm really dissapointed.

It seems to me that with $100 put aside for ESO that would get you the game and about 3 months playing time. During that 3 months you could be saving money to buy another three months.

Lets take into account that the game is probably a minimum of 6 months away from being released. How much more could you tack on to to that $100 in that time? Saving just $7.50 cents a month gets you another 3 months playing time.

So, I think you probably could afford to play the game for many months so let's just state the true fact here, it is that you just don't want to pay the subscription fee, That is fine. There are plenty of things that I would like to have that I make a choice not to buy because of money issues. We all have to make those choices. It looks like you made the decision not to play ESO. Personally I would be thinking of ways I could save a measly $3.75 a week? One less trip to Starbucks. A few less trips to the vending machine. Shoot I can save almost that much simply by tossing my change in the jar at the end of each day.

I would not be blaming ZOS for not checking my budget before setting the price. They have their own budgets to worry about.

Play the open beta then and make a decision for yourself. Or wait till they do free trial periods and try out the game.

Everyone who comes here is a fan of the series. The difference is, some of us are willing to pay for the game and the large fee of 50 cents a day and some are not willing to pay.

To quote a wise man, "Bottom line it is what it is."

so you take a game like Skyrim and its add-ons. I paid maybe $70 total there. Now its got a lot of replay value and I have been playing the heck out of it. But the content IS limited and it has little added to it. Its a Great box game but its still just a box game. Its pretty much dead now.

It was a great deal and I really got my money out if it playing all these different factions with different characters. 10/10 in my book

Now take ESO. Easily three times the content out of the box with the three separate factions and I don't know how much replayability within each for the different way to go there. PLUS infintly more support and patching in place of the add-ons. AND years more of expansion support. PLUS all the online pvp endgame and raids and guild stuff and . . . Look ITS GOT WAY MORE THAN SKYRIM . .

Now some of you guys are telling me its not worth more? Who in their right mind would put all that extra into a game and not NEED to get paid extra for it? This is not co-op skyrim. And its not Guildwars in Tamriel. This game has so much to offer and the only people I can think of that would complain about being expected to pay for it are people who either don't plan on using most of it, or who don't really get what this kind of product is.

Well, I hope you all who for some reason don't think ESO will be worth $15 a month decide to try it when it comes out. Maybe it will be worth it to you then.

If every one was driving a ferrari, you wouldn't say that that is a luxury or luxurious car if every one had one. On paper it can still say that it is a luxurious car, fact is it would't be.

Your right and i'm sorry do a google search and find the reddit survey of about 1000 people it showed that more people want a subscription model. Just because your preferred method wasn't chosen doesn't mean you have to rage on the internet. We understand you are upset and don't want to afford 50 cents a day on the cheapest entertainment on the market. I truly am sorry. Better luck in the future.

BTW most surveys are done using a sample..... it would be nearly impossible to ask every single ESO fan what they prefer but a sample normally reflects the population of the players that are interested in ESO. There are still many other factors that can change this but in all the forums and surveys I have seen thus far more people are happy than not. People want a high quality, high service game and they are willing to pay for it.

In GW2 I was bugged for over 2 months. I reported it over and over again and they never fixed it. Now, many, many months after release they have finally put something in the game for me to fix the bug.... this is terrible customer service.

In World of Warcraft my brother accidentally lost track of a piece of armor and sold it to a vendor. He reported it and in about a 24 hour period he had a replacement. This is excellent customer service.

Also in world of warcraft someone I know deleted all of their characters because they had a ridiculous rage fit and they got all of them back exactly how they were.

My accont was hacked in world of warcraft and I was robbed of all possessions which I got back...... Customer service is key and people like having up to date support that is fast and effective and are willing to pay for it.

Many people also don't like being charged real life money to be able to carry more things or put more items in the bank or buying new character slots.

I agree 100%!

Subscription MMOs are rapidly going away because it cuts out a lot of otherwise happily paying customers. It's like making steam mandatory, or UBISOFT's idiotic protection policy. If you don't have internet you're just out of luck and that's a no-win for everyone. Likewise, if you don't have 200 dollars a year to spend on a single game, but you're more than willing to pay a reasonable 50 dollar life-time fee then that is money lost for the company and a upset customer. Thankfuly the game will change models to F2P (I like the GW2 method too, it was great.) so it's not a total screw up.

I love the little kids who don't have jobs and have all day to sit and play the game at their parent’s expense, and yet have the nerve to say "Don't like it don't buy it" it's just idiotic imo.

Actually, by definition, yes it would still be a luxury car if everyone had one. Just because more people owned a ferrari doesn't change the fact that it is in no way a necessity to have one. (I'm going to ignore the fact that your anology svcks because it would never happen).

Again with the GW2 praising. ESO is going to be a MUCH better game than GW2, you can't get that kind of quality for just the box price.

Secondly, no... most of the people who can afford 15 a month and see what a great deal that is for such quality entertainment are not kids, they are advlts.

If everyone had a billion dollars you would not call everyone rich. But, everyone does not have a billion dollars and a Ferrari is a luxury car.

Hold on to your seat, because this is going to blow your mind. Not everyone plays MMOs.

Viper, I'm trying to respect your opinion, but if you don't know the meaning for luxury and don't respect the Webster's dictionary, I can't help you.

I go to college full time, have a part-time job, and have a limited budget. I can find time to play and pay for a subscription MMO. Please don't generalize people who can play this game.

Here's somebody with the right answer for anyone sitting on the fence. Just stay on the fence until you have all the details, know what your budget is, and then decide.

Another thing to consider... We only know the monthly subscription rate. We don't know any other details, including possible discounts, rates for "time cards," or even the actual price of the box.

There's a lot of heat here, and not enough light. (Not to mention that there's some smoke-blowing, too. :P )

I understand that within both surveys there is a sampling bias. But try to find any survey in the world about video games where a bias doesn't exist.

I don't think any game will offer discounts as good as Rift did. For a year sub the monthly total came to be 9.99 and that is ridiculously low.

1. Why are you making this into a contest between GW2 and TESO? It's just silly imo. I liked GW2, and it's one of the most popular MMO out there. It's not perfect and I'd give it a 7 out of 10 or 8 if asked. But what you're displaying is fanboyism which is never good and extremely biased.

2. You know that how?

If you and STX feel happy by saying that you have the privileges of playing a luxurious game, go ahead, i don't care.

yeah, we were just discussing what most of the fans prefer. I was saying that every poll and forum I have been to related to ESO has been more in favor or Subscription and I listed a poll on this forum and was mentioning a reddit and TF survey.

But you are right, we know what it costs and we shouldn't really be on this topic. They aren't going to change until they see how well they do.

Both fair points. We can not know how well ESO will do. If you feel GW2 is a better game, nobody will make you play ESO.

Will sneaking in ESO only be combat related (attack bonus/damage multiplier) or will it have any other purpose?
