Report update issues here [Dec2011]

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 12:11 pm

If something doesn't seem to be working as expected, please let us know in this thread. Do not create separate threads for each issue.

Things to note
 • Avatars/Photos have been merged. Previously we did this with code modifications, but the vendor upstream has also done so. You should now only see Avatars.
 • Facebook Integration has been disabled. If you registered with Facebook and completed your registration, you should be able to use the "Forgot your password" feature on the login form to get a new one. If you did not complete your registration, or have trouble logging in, please contact us using the form on http://www.gamesas.com/eng/contact_email.php. Make sure to select "Problem using website or forums" for the category.

Don't know if it's intentional or not, but the "members viewing this forum/topic" thing is gone, which I kind of miss.

The Indent function always indents the entire post, regardless of what text you have selected. Not sure if this is a bug but it's rather annoying.

Well what a surprise when I saw the new forum skin, but I've already one *bug* to report and that's when you use a smiley in a quoted PM reply.

The smiley doesn't show properly instead you see the image link tag in a quote.

The new popup sign in is not being remembered by Chromium derived browsers.

I am using Comodo Dragon which previously would ask if you want to save the user name and password on these forums if it was new.

Now with the new site software, the sign in does not fill in the user name and password, and after manually filling it in, the browser does not recognise it needs to be remembered.

This is not a cookie / java / local storage restriction I have imposed, I allow such things for this site.

PS - Please do something about the microscopic font size.

The fonts are far too small, I wear bifocals and I feel my eyes starting to hurt from straining to read the forums.

Smaller font size is difficult to read in all areas except the reply box. Having to cycle through pages in a forum only using prev/next is not useful. Needs a dropdown or page selection like the individual threads have.

Oh yeah, and the dropdown to pick a different subsection of the forums is gone; now I have to navigate all the way back out to the front to get into the section I wanted.

Keepass functionality (with Keefox) is broken it seems. It would allow me to just log into Keepass, and Keefox would automatically fill in my Username and Password before, but not anymore.

That's not really a bug, but rather the result of the new sign-in dialogue. It's something that got changed with IP.Board 3.2.x. We have the same issue at Dark Creations. Anyway, to get around it, just click Sign-in on the first dialogue. You will get a new screen with an error at the top, but your login information will be completed for you and you can sign-in normally.

If Beth figures out how to disable that first dialogue box, I'd love to know how you did it. :D

Thank you, that works  ( My bold, in case an admin reads this without a magnifying glass )

Username and password auto filled on the error page and Dragon remembered it ...

One further problem with that approach, after signing in you then get dumped here http://www.gamesas.com/index.php? - Not the topic/page you were trying to sign into.

You can click the browser Back button twice though, then click refresh :bunny: << -- ( I just wanted to use it  )

Edit: Can we have a Log out at the bottom of a page too ?

These. Also, the new multiquote is confusing and I do not like having to reply in this small box in the bottom. I preferred opening in the post editor page. It mas much easier.

From http://www.gamesas.com/user/510587-expresate/

After the new update I've been unable to post. The quick post textbox isn't clickable, and neither is the textbox in the advanced post mode. Any idea what's going on?

He is on Firefox.

I had that warrior theme for the background. However the text of the threads would get eaten up by the graphic in the background. In otherwords the text boxes are too transparent. Had to switch to the IP board theme. Anyone else notice this? It is possible that it is because it is a work comuter and it is doing something funky. I will check at home too---after work.

As several other have already pointed out, the text size is waaaaaaaaaay too small. Just trying to read a topic now gives me headaches I could really do without. The IP Board theme fixes the text size issue, but nearly makes me go blind from the sheer brightness of it. And I'm not about to turn down the brightness of my monitor just because of one site.

The lack of a drop down box for forum navigation is either a bug or a serious mistake. Either way, that needs to be fixed.

There is no "Reply" button. We should be able to reply directly to whatever comment we want. Most, of not all, of us liked that feature and want it back.

The "down" arrow key on a qwerty keyboard used to put the cursor at the end of the current line, if there wasn't a line below it. That function is now broken.

I'll post other issues as I experience them.

The forum filter options are gone (used to be located at the bottom of each page), are they coming back or is this something permanent due to upstream changes?

Probably the form ids changed for the fields, so Keefox doesn't know what to fill in. You can go Keefox->detect forms to try and force keefox to redetect it, or use KeePass's autotype feature and KeeFox should ask you if you wish to have it remember it again (it'll probably create a duplicate entry in your database, so be sure to check for that afterwards)

Edit: Keefox detect the forms no problem for me, so it probably is just a form id problem if you are having an issue.

They're still here. Just above the topic list, click on Custom.

1) Avatars just broke again (they see have been forced to 100x100)

2) Number of replies on each page changed

3) When quoting someone it doesn't place the text properly (at least sometimes), it shows up as so:
text
I think this might only happen when quoting a post with a quote in it.

General Font is way too small for thread title's can barely read even up close, font in thread are readable but still have to squint a little bit..

Are you sure you want users to have a Load More Topics per page, I could see people abusing this and loading 300 or 400 topics per page, would that not affect forum performance if mass people started doing this..

Those are active posts. Check under your name in any topic you've posted in and it gives your total post count.

I can see you have your 974 right now under your name/avatar.
