One Of the best things to do in Oblivion was to make YOUR OWN SPELLS. Now...you cant do that anymore! WHY????

um no that was great if you wanted to ruin balance.Spells with 108 damage per second for 5-6 seconds. Talking about a game breaking spell

Great game so far. My biggest gripe is having to pause the game every time I want to switch to a new weapon/spell/shield. Before it was just 'press a key on the d-pad'. Now it's 'press a key on the d-pad, scroll to the item, select it, press another key to exit menu'. Overall I think the menu system is great though.

This disappointed me as well and the fact you can't see your character in your main menu.

^this this this this^!
Already guys really? Thanks goodness I don't pick apart games, i enjoy the game, nothing is perfect, nothing!

Nothing is perfect but that is no reason to get rid of one of the best parts of CUSTOMIZATION in TES. TES was the only game that could let you do something like that.

Than why did they told so?

All European Skyrims will unlock at Midnight, GMT. 23 minutes to go, buddy.

Agree it's why I loved oblivion.

Umm... no, not as long as Bethesda states that you can play however you want and that that is their intent. This is actually one of the possible flaws in their changes because it directly contradicts their stated intent. It is not up to them to decide how the player plays, or at least that is what they claim to want (i.e., for the player to freely choose to play however the player wishes).

Of course, they also claim you can play any character you want, and everyone knows that is untrue due to the artstyle, but anyway...

Its called "options". Its a game that if your smart enough you can be really powerfull if you worked for it instead of every thing around you at the same level. If I spend that many hours on it I want the "ability" to do just that and get a pay off from it.

Edit: just found out I can hotkey two items with left and right d-pad button so it's not that bad.

Thanks hadnt found that thanks.

These things will return because we the players want it so (enough of us do) and Bethesda, by empowering us as they do thru the inclusion of the Construction Set, gave the modding community enough momentum that it is virtually unstoppable. Case and point - obse, and the like - how mods used these

Thats bad, I really like bound armor. I felt like if I was ever in a spot like a jail where I was vulnerable I could just use do that when I got powerfull enough.

But console players can't get mods.

85 effects. From what I hear spell count is more like 300. The only legit complaint I see here is the guy who can't install it, since the rest of you don't have it yet and can't be disappointed in it.

Disappointments so far:
The terrain looks too shiny and fake just like Oblivion, compare with something like Uncharted 2.
Melee combat doesn't feel solid, no sense of impact, compare with Dead Island.
The "Favourites" system breaks immersion unlike the hotkeys in Oblivion.
Menu too simplified, no way to reorder items based on value or weight for example.
I'm pretty sure the favorites can be hotkeyed making sets of spells/gear possible. I've read in the PC support forum that some folks had keyed it that way and others were having problems with it.

For Me?
The Loss of Dungeon Re-spawning, (Why do I have to wait for some guy to give me a quest?)
Spell Creation,
The Day 1 patch (Im not even sure if I can get it with my internet dying tomorrow, so thanks for the buggyness that I can't fix)
And apparently the animals are STILL reporting crimes, and the guards are still semi-psychic.
Asides from that Great Game, I just wish that 'Modding' wasn't required to make it match up to the hype. Xbox users get shafted in that department.

One thing I have learned in all my years of gaming, is that no game -- NO GAME -- will ever satisfy me 100%. Never happened, and never will.

I loved playing Morrowind, but there were things I didn't like about it. But, I played 600+ hours on it.
I loved playing Oblivion, but there were things I didn't like about it. But, I played 800+ hours on it.
I'll love playing Skyrim, but I guarantee there will be things I won't like about it. I'm going to try to break 1,000 hours on it, and probably will.

The only way to have a game that will 100% satisfy you, would be to create one yourself with everything you've ever wanted. And guess what? There would still be other people that didn't like things about it.

So true, but still skyrim has more room to improve over oblivion.

The thing I don't like is that Warriors are heavily favored. The perks and enchantments for weapons increase the damage, but the ones for magic all just reduce magicka cost. That seems pretty unfair when you get swords that do 100 damage and lightning that stays pretty much the same.

I hadn't even thought of that but yeah that's true. Only viable magic is destruction or Conjuration with sword.

It's a single player game, so that's not your call to make for anybody but YOU. Searching for a fine line of balance in a single player game is stupid beyond belief. You're supposed to be the hero, and a lot of players like their heroes to sling magic. Not having the ability to create your own spells is thus far the biggest downside to Skyrim. Don't know what else, because 11-11-11 is tomorrow for me.

There are other downsides too. :(
