85 Spell effects
There are much more than 85 spells.

Thats the truth.

Oblivion magic system...boring generic spells. Oblivion spellmaking...Infinite number of boring generic spells.

They did add a few good spells but took out too many good ones as well.

I'm pretty sure they took out spell creation because people would make ridiculously over powered spells.

I dont like the health regen - takes away some of the desperation. and I could use some ambient occlusion please!

Other than that, SKYRIM feels like coming home...

Really? Already? I still have a few hours to go before my game is out, and there's complaints, this is what pisses me off.

How long has the game been out in your areas? A couple hours?

Calm down.

Longer. Anyway I just don't like some magic aspects. I didn't mind them taking out the spell creation.

Pretty disappointed.

Crossfire impacts performance negatively. I get more fps with a single card than with two.

And even playing on 1 6970, the game dips into the 20's fps. It's funny how hardware 10 times as fast as a 360 strugles with the game.

Meanwhile I'm going to watch a couple of MJ music videos.

They seem to be far more entertaining than any Bethesda game ever will be. altough they're 20 years old...

I wonder if you can keep this up, Bethesda...

So explain to me why you are on a Bethesda forum discussing their games? Go return it if its such a disappointment for you.

Oblivion magic system...boring generic spells. Oblivion spellmaking...Infinite number of boring generic spells.

You clearly did not use it in a way that was efficient, such as casting 100% weakness to magic and shock for 10 sec with a 1 sec paralize spell ( all in the same spell), then make a shock spell that does 35% damage for 2 sec and cast that within 10 sec to do more damage( it stacks too).

Its the fastest way to kill with magic.

I dont like the health regen - takes away some of the desperation.

I don't either. I prefer sprinting to the nearest town with 3 health and hoping a bear doesn't blindside me than just crouching behind a tree like a wuss and waiting for my concussion to heal itself in a matter of seconds. At least with waiting more time passed, even if it wasn't wholly plausable, and it was even a little bit of an inconvinience. Health regen just reminds me of the travesty of Dragon Age.

That said, it probably won't take away my enjoyment of the game, it's a minor thing for me.

85 effects. From what I hear spell count is more like 300. The only legit complaint I see here is the guy who can't install it, since the rest of you don't have it yet and can't be disappointed in it.

For those already playing what disappointments have you experienced.

I do not like magic this game. It has some improvements such as dual casting with perk mind you, but many spells were eliminated and with no spell creation it is just awful. You only have 85 spells to chose from. The only skill that got better was destruction.

On the plus side dragon shouts are good.

Yeah, I agree with you on the whole "no spell making" thing. Just takes options away from the player completely! <_<

You guys are incredible seriously, what is this incessant need to pick faults at what is a brilliant game? Does it make you feel better? Bigger? A better person? I have been here in these forums since before Morrowind was released and it is the same old story! It's really pathetic, lets not look at the positives, the great fun, graphics, gameplay which all the reviews agree with, lets pick at whats wrong with the game to make us feel better about ourselves?

You should be ashamed of yourselves really, not TES fans obviously ! Why not make a positive what you love about the game thread, oh wait I know, because the mainstream of people who have the game are having too much fun playing it to come here and whinge about whats not right !

I really feel sorry for Bethesda and its employees that have been slaving away for the last 4 or so years making this fantastic game for us to enjoy, they must really hurt coming to the forums and seeing trash like this :(

No. Bad. /slap.

This thread is criticism. If you expect Bethesda to improve at all, they need to have critics. Do the positives of Skyrim outweigh the negatives? Sure. Maybe they do. Does that mean Bethesda should ignore the negatives and slap them into the next game? No.

Don't get mine until tomorrow, i'm one of the few that prefers a hard copy. (yes i know i still have to use steam)

Anyway, what is this i hear of health regen? surely you are mistaken... health regeneration in The Elder Scrolls? but what of the health potions and healing spells etc?? are you saying i can run away hide and just regain health ?

I do not like the sound of that one bit. Shall refrain from moaning until i've played at least a day.

Some of these complaints are legitimate while others are obviously troll bait. The ones complaining about minor things aren't true bethesda fans because we all expect bugs and know they'll be resolved either day 1 or very early. This game has 300+ hours and just came out so you didn't get far enough to judge it.

Edit: Btw, most people complaining are Layman just sayin... :spotted owl:

Thats BS and you know it, this has nothing at all to do with making Bethesda a better company, to get them to make better games or improve... and you know it. It is all about beating your chests, with all the positive hype and reviews it is your job, your personal goal, to bring the game down! Don't try me I have been around these forums and other game forums long enough to know trolls when I see them.

Then why do you keep replying to them and giving them attention. You're not making them mad, your giving them exactly what they want.'

edit: but on another note. You do need to be considerate of valid criticism. Skyrim isn't going to be a perfect game and people have a right to voice their dislikes as much as anyone has a right to say what they like about the game.

I'm not saying one damn negative thing about the game. I don't even have it yet. Some of these guys don't seem like trolls. I may not have been on these forums since '02, but I've been here since '08 and on many other gaming forums as well. I'm also on these forums quite often. I see the trolls that pass through here.

This is criticism. The developers read these forums. If people are randomly shouting out "issues" with the game, the developers will know better and ignore it. However, some of these threads are bound to bring real issues out of the woodworks.

Some of these people may be trolls, but not all of them.

Really? Where have you heard this? Im a huge spell nut lol, love em'. I haven't played Oblivion so this game will twice as good due to nothing being re-used or left out in my eyes, but I would like to see a lot of spells. I hope that you're right. Anyone here who got the game already and has over 85 spells to confirm this? lmao.

Hahahahahaha people peopl people!! Please calm the hell down!! People have had this game for what? A few hours? That's not NEARLY enough time to judge a game. And picking it apart doesn't make it any easier to cope with. It just makes you realize it's there all the more. And makes the damn game unenjoyable. And I think a lot of it has to do with the mind. We build up what we hope this game will be like. How it will play. Like a delusion of enjoyment. And I get it. I really do. Not every game will live up to your EVERY expectation. But griping about little MINOR problems with a game is frankly a bit childish. When you're suppose to look at the game as a whole. Not piece by piece. Just enjoy the game. Like I intend too. Have fun everybody!!
