Skyrim Disappointments : V

For those already playing what disappointments have you experienced.

I do not like magic this game. It has some improvements such as dual casting with perk mind you, but many spells were eliminated and with no spell creation it is just awful. You only have 85 spells to chose from. The only skill that got better was destruction.

On the plus side dragon shouts are good.

It is 11.11.11 and it is 9 minutes after midnight (CET +1) and I'm still unable to installl the game at all. Steam still tells the game is not published yet.

Fine technique that is...

I'm pretty sure that the game follows Eastern Standard Time. Over here on the east coast it's 6:00 PM.

It is just one disappointment. Old returning players will not like it. New players won't like some things but will probably like the game over all.

Disappointments so far:
The terrain looks too shiny and fake just like Oblivion, compare with something like Uncharted 2.
Melee combat doesn't feel solid, no sense of impact, compare with Dead Island.
The "Favourites" system breaks immersion unlike the hotkeys in Oblivion.
Menu too simplified, no way to reorder items based on value or weight for example.

Actually, it's mostly to blame on Bethesda. They set the time and date and tell Valve what to do.

By the way, Valve owns and runs Steam. Stop trying to blame a program.

As per the hotkey issue:

You can hot key.

1.) Favorite an Item

2.) Hit Q

3.) Highlight item you want hotkeyed

4.) Press number (IE 1,2,3 etc)

Great game so far. My biggest gripe is having to pause the game every time I want to switch to a new weapon/spell/shield. Before it was just 'press a key on the d-pad'. Now it's 'press a key on the d-pad, scroll to the item, select it, press another key to exit menu'. Overall I think the menu system is great though.

Edit: just found out I can hotkey two items with left and right d-pad button so it's not that bad.
