Occasionally. It's a nice distraction from real problems. Just don't get carried away, deal with your real life issues.

Yes, though not because my life svcks. But for me an escape from modern life (LOL ironic really) but it is nice to explore places without the big roads, cars etc.

I play Skyrim and be a Hero on it to escape from the corrupted people that live around me.. Seriously.. Same thing with all other ES games.. I actually feel better when I hear a NPC thanking me for saving them though it isn't real but it does makes me feel better.. Specially after a long day of being told that "I'm useless" or "Everybody always have thoughts on how to kill you" and many other stupid insults that I think are pathetic.

I should pay attention to that note, I'm on number ......9, I think...?

I don't think there's anything wrong with it TC, a few days ago I had some relatives over and I just plugged in my headset and played Skyrim to ignore them. I guarantee that almost everyone that plays Skyrim does it to escape from something every now and again.

Yep. I'm weird. Prolly the only American that refuses to drink, smoke, and do all those nasty things that can kill you.

6 was a conservative estimate and it is the best beer in the world; Stella Artois

Point I am (badly) trying to make is that Skyrim is a bloody godsend for me at the moment, tough times in life and it really is seeing me through it. Dont see enough of my kids/messy break up blah blah blah, lose myself in Skyrim and forget it all for a few hours, best 40 quid I have ever spent

yep, I escape the daytime TV. After doing all my "chores" I can either watch daytime tv, read, talk to my critter's ( and while they DO look at me like their interested, they don't talk ) gossip with friend's about who's doing what with whom ( not really insterested in knowing who's cheating on their spouse )

It's a rather nice place, yes. Although I sometimes wish I could feel the wind in my hair and put my weary feet in one of the cold streams. I like outdoor hiking and I so happen to live in a country where such areas are quite accessible. Almost every summer I go hiking for a week, all by myself with nature as my only companion.

No it isn't.

That's generally why people play games like this, why else would someone sink 100s of hours into something that means absolutely nothing and has no bearing on reality?

Difficult to detect for lack of tone and inflection. For all I know you have very low philosophical standards.

Because its fun to be an axe wielding half orc barbarian.. destroying dragons killing trolls, and smashing the undead..

What if Skyrim does mean something? What if Skyrim means that the Dragons are gonna return in 2012, Year of the Dragon? What if the End of the World prediction in 2012 is true? And all of this are connected? What if I'm saying all of this in a sarcasmic way? What if I am not?

Yes. TES games more than any other allow me to escape the reality of life.

That's what I love about the series. Other fantasy RPGs may have better action, better strategy/tactics, a better storyline, etc. but none of them do as good a job as TES does in allowing me to assume another life in a virtual world.
