Basicaly the way I understand how it is now is that the various currencys are now more or less how weighless things like "pre war" currency penciles cigs and so on are handled by FO3. (bascialy I treated anything that was weightless and non consumable loot as money, simply because (A) it Was Weightless and (B) you could "sell" it for real money. (bascialy you could have made penciles, prewar money, thoes passcards, and even individual cigarets as money. the game just defaulted to useing "caps")

This time around they probably looked at it and decided to make the vendors "want" one type of "money" more than the others as a trade default.

ok to clarify

assume each unit of currency has a base value of 1

and lets assume for now that you have

CAP$ (shorhanded to C$)
NCR$ (N$)
CLC$ (L$)

(not counting other currency)

its posible that a given "Semi independant" vendor may have the following BASE modifiers to the currencys "Value"

C$ 110%
N$ 90%
L$ 70%

This can posibly be further modified by the players actions, for example if he decides to do nothing but quests that help the legion, you might find that the player has added a global penalty of 20% to N$ and bonus to L$

The Khans are confirmed? Oh right! The Great Khans. Seems kind of strange that these raider groups have survived so long, but at least they're making an effort to tie in with the originals. I highly doubt that the Vipers are going to come back though. BoS completely wiped out the Vipers within a month of Rhombus taking over. The only survivors joined the Hounds of Hecate, the warrior caste of the Daughter's of Hecate. Hmmm, maybe they'll be in New Vegas in some capacity, but they probably won't be a raiding group. They'd most likely be a mini-faction opposing Caesar's Legion. Who knows? All that matters is that there won't be any Vipers group by name.

They're all cannibals?

Does this mean my male main character can become their six god/procreation aid if he takes the cannibal perk?

Those Khans are persistent bastards, aren't they? I wonder why they are still around. I guess I get to kill the same gang three times then.

Lucky son of a... You have had more playtime of FNV than any of us now. I envy you.

However, I better see photos by tomorrow or I'll probably kill you by exploding your head with anger-induced psionic abilities.

I just wonder what happens once you are caught cheating. Obviously if you are out on the wastes a gunfight will break out, but i hope in the strip casinos its more taken into the backalley and roughed up kind of thing.

Great info. Just wanted to point out that we knew about the cleaver, razor, and purchasing of cards. Also, J.E. Sawyer has confirmed that both Nuka-Cola, and Sunset Sasparilla caps will lead to the same cap totall.

Nuka-Cola and Sunset Sarsaparilla both contribute bottle caps to your cap total, though some specially marked bottles of Sunset Sarsaparilla have... "special" caps. :spotted owl:

Hmm...I wonder how one goes about cheating

And thinking about it I think this is the first game I've heard of that allows you to actually cheat (like an option)
.....well either that or I'm not thinking so hard <_<

What does "special caps" mean? They don't count towards bottlecap total and are something different or they count as more than one cap?

They're probably just collectibles added for "flavor".
