Ok, as much as I like the topic, I do have a little bone to pick with the originator. How do you make a "Paladin" with a Kajiit? And what Paladin would stoop to using such trickery as the Illusion skill? How's your pickpocket skill now? Got all the Brotherhood quests done?

Bah.

My Khajiit is well in tune with the Nine Divine and the gods often protect him for his loyalty and willingness to bring justice to those deserving. In addition, he is naturally effective with commanding and influencing others, which explains his ability in illusion.

Two handed Orc Warrior was my first pick. I went Battleaxe instead of sword or warhammer. Nothing feels as so good as the sound of that axe ringing after severing the head of some would be bandit. Gods grant mercy to my foes for I shall show none.

You mean like Apollo killing Python with a bow...or Hercules killing Ladon with a bow...or even Bard the Bowman killing Smaug with a bow from the "tale" written by Tolkien?

Maybe you need to clean out your ears since you apparently can't "hear" well... :whistling:
Have you read J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit? Bard took down the dragon, A.K.A.T.O.S.H. (Also Known As The Old Smaug Himself) with an apparently magical (or just very lucky) special Black Arrow.

Actually I did read The Hobbit some years ago. And no I don't remember this Bard guy though I do remember Smaug the dragon and other characters. I guess Bard just wasn't all that memorable.

When I think of Archers I think of Genghis Khan and Robin Hood. And they didn't slay any dragon.

Ghengis Khan killed the largest and strongest Dragon in history - The Chinese Empire.

I wouldn't expect Genghis Khan to find dragons in Mongolia.

Bard slayed Smaug because not only did he have a special arrow, but Bilbo pointed out a gap in the dragon's scales. It doesn't seem so far-fetched to take down a dragon provided you have enough arrows. After all, it's just fantasy.

quick question here:

for all the 2-h exclusives, is there any other way to defeat the miniboss types that are 1-h/shield npc's that use shield bash and are fast as heck, besides, my own 2-h bash?

is there an actual counter besides paralyze, retreat, my own bash, etc. ??

So I consoled in all perks, and all the Deadric and Glass armor/weapons; smithed them to Legendary for good measure.
(No enchant/alchemy loop)

Two handers vs Dual wield Vs Sword and Board Vs Archery:
All have their advantages and disadvantages. All got the job done.

After all was said and done Sword and Board left me with the most HP left over, and allowed me to OWN really big stuff,
like Dragons, GIants, and Snow Trolls - with ease.

Moral of the story:
Any combat style will work if played right,
and any style can be powergamed too.

i wield mine with 2 hands. That is, when i'm not playing Skyrim

Okay do not take this badly, but that sounds so wrong in many ways.

Any way....Scow2, using daggers actually requires a lot of guts. You are sneaking up on them with the risk of them seeing you and then smash your brains in.(Or rip it of completely. ) BUT...i hat a Khajiit warrior for a while and he was using Greatswords so i also know how powerful two handed weapons can be. I just do not think daggers are for whimps.

Again...BUT i do have plans to start a warrior with 2 handers again very soon. (Just incase i do not want to be sneaking or using magic. )

I like it.. it just looks awkward and out of control, but i see that as a good thing. And when you connect, especially with the hammering down finisher, it always gives me a laugh. No other weapon confirms death like that. That person is NOT getting up.

i recently started a 2H battleaxe orc on master difficulty.
I abuse the heck out of my companion and additional summons. Since I'm not perking conjuration (i perk 2H, Smithing, Heavy, Enchanting, Restoration) and don't have a large enough mana pool, I use wands for summons. Recently got the Sanguine Rose, which is pretty awesome.

But in essence the only way to survive against strong melee groups is mobility, which is why I have high stamina and use the sprint attack frequently.

Or if you decide to progress the main storyline, in response to your last statement, you can just use shouts as well  .

heh, true.
the sanguine rose quest starts at level 14. not sure how fast you can do the main quest ... if it's even doable with such a low level.

I prefer to use Archery and single handed weapons. Though every now and then I bring out my huge Glass Battleaxe. Man it goes through bandits like a hot knife through butter.

I played a two-handed female Nord barbarian last month. I noticed timing is a lot more critical for these compared to other weapons.

Good post. I just abandoned my 220 hour Altmer battle mage for a Redguard two-hander who specializes in smithing. I've been way more into this playthrough than the last. He's wearing full Thalmore robes and carrying an exquisite Orc battle axe. I know the zero armor rating of the robes seems ridiculous but my weapon is so powerful no one has had the opportunity to test how poor my choice in attire is...
