http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBP8imm03Mo sounds brutal as heck, but to be honest, the 'singing' sounds like someone garglin.

Were it only the vocals that appeared strange to you? It's been a long time since anyone posted something as damn funny as that in here.
I wonder whether that snare drum was simply crap or whether it really was a cowbell.
My friend tells me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVos-yHmcgs is insanely complex and hard to play, I don't know what to make of it.
The comments were funny. And they have a nice girl. o.O
Other than that, it sounded pretty unexceptional to me to be honest.

The kind of thing most of us did when we were five. Yes, that could be right. :P Kudos, that bit cheered me up and was of great value in a comical way. I just kept listening because it just kept getting funnier. :goodjob:

I bought the Roads to Judah vinyl not too long ago.
And I really, really like it.

There's definitely a lot of bands out there that play in an old school style. The only thing I don't quite miss is glam metal. The only modern band I'm aware of, svcks imo: Steel Panther.
I actually quite like Death To All But Metal, but I made the mistake of buying the album (it was cheap, okay?) and it's pretty [censored] dire.
The latest trailer for Lollipop Chainsaw made me giggle. How is it metal related? Well take a look. Go to youtube and serach for "Lollipop Chainsaw - Bosses of Zombie Rock". Can't link since it contains words that is censored here.
I didn't recognize the music, but the game looks pretty cool. Reminds me of House of the Dead: Overkill (I think it's the same guy doing the voice) mixed with Madworld. Which are two of my favourite Wii games, so [censored] yeah.

And that Deafheaven track someone just posted sounds pretty good too. Post-black metal stuff usually sounds pretty boring but for some reason this doesn't. Shame they have such a terrible name...

I have the Roads to Judah LP from Deafheaven, but I can't really see myself picking anything else up from them.

Sounds more like you are talking about drone rather than doom, but you are probably just exaggerating.
Probably yeah.

Anyway... some nice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7jgoqinqRY brutality.

Okay, I'm aware that this thread perhaps might not be the best place to ask, as there's not a lot of love expressed for Ozzy here and I can't imagine there ever would be... However, his back catalogue seems to be on offer at HMV and I was wondering if any of them were worth picking up? I've always quite liked the odd track here and there, like Bark at the Moon and Crazy Train, but never actually listened to any of the albums they're on. Is the rest mostly filler, or should I at least own Blizzard of Ozz?

Most Ozzy's albums only have one or two songs I like and it's usually the hits. Just pick up something like The Essential Ozzy Osbourne and you are set.

Now I know for certain this must have been recorded in someone's kitchen.

Referring to Windir I suppose?

Hehehe. I don't even like that particular song or any other.

Because it was that bad in your opinion?

I've been listening to stoner all day and it has made me so slow I haven't bothered to get up and get the bus. My intention was to pick up some Electric Wizard, Bongzilla and such in town. Oops.

Wow. I don't think I could listen to that song normally, but at least that video makes it pretty damn entertaining to listen to. I like how the guitars and vocals could be doing just about anything and it doesn't really matter because that snare drowns everything out. It even pauses occasionally or changes tone slightly as if to assure you that, yes it is a snare sounding this annoying, and not a cowbell.

I think the vocalist is singing through a water bong somehow.

Oh really. That's what I think of Heretoir and a number of other shoegaze clones as well, so I think I see what you mean.

Does anyone here play sports? I play Lacrosse, recreation-ally now because I can't play on my high school team any longer. :P But I find listening to Amon Amarth is the best band to listen to before a lax sesh. Anyone else listen to certain bands for certain events per se?

Well it's a bit off topic but yeah, I listen to Ensiferum before rugby and Bathory before iaido.
