The new skin

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 5:22 am

I REEEEEEEEEEEEAAAALLLLY wish there was. This new board is a headache. FFS why change it if it aint broke. I'm not saying they should massively rehaul the system to how those of us who dont like warrior liked the old one, but at least give us the OPTION, this new theme is terrible -___-

Yeah, agreed. I don't see why they can't leave our options open...Despite the fact I prefer the newer version.
Hopefully people will fix the things that are commonly disliked through stylesheets or whatever. :)

I'm kind of on the edge. It looks alot smoother, but the font is a bit small. And, with all change, it'll take a awhile to get used to. Took me about 2 weeks to get used to a new forum when it changed last.

If I didn't know any better I'd think that this thread was just a copy-paste of a similar thread which popped up after the IP Board 3 update.
Or the youtube changed thread, or any of the facebook changed threads, or most of the other similar "some site changed the look" threads.

Bunch of complainers about change should learn javascript and css rather than complain, eh?

Wasn't around for that, but I just hate this new style because it hurts my eyes, and I don't want to quick this board, but if they don't change something I may have to, something about all this compressed font and crap is giving me a headache :/

It's just part of Bethesda's continued quest to make the forums complete illegible. It was bad during the IP Board 3 update and it's worse now. Total illegibility coming to a forum near you by 2013, at this rate!
I can just picture the ads from Bethesda

Pfft, we all know complaining is a much more fulfilling hobby. :)

But when YouTube or Facebook change it's usually [censored] awful.

Haha, agreed! Although I did like the latest Youtube update. They seem to change for the worse every other week. Here, they only seem to want us to reconfigure after we're just used to the last update.

I don't get the join date arguments -- hover over name to see it. Surely the content of a post is more important than the join date of the poster. I'm starting to feel inferior here.

That's because you are.

Don't worry, I'm inferior too.

It's not what's said that's important, it's who says it.

Give it a few years and you'll be respected too!

I think the new skin is much more easy on the eyes than the previous one -- but then, the little problems: there seems to be no "users viewing this topic/forum" bar, polls appear to not be marked, and my animated gif avatar is only animated inside my profile but when viewing posts, it seems it doesn't fit to its place (cut from the upper and lower edges) and doesn't animate (and I've no idea how to fix that -- there seems to be some kind of tool to manage the avatar pic, but doesn't seem to do anything). Nothing unovercomeable, though.

It has a slight delay which is an inconvenience I'm not going to go through every single time I quote someone with 1 star or less.

Dunno if you reuploaded the image or not, but it's animated for me. You probably have the other image cached, so it isn't appearing animated to you.

The avatar images are also hosted on a CDN (content delivery network), so it's possible that the CDN you are connecting to hasn't yet synchronized to display the correct image yet

Another minor inconvenience is that there is now no way to jump immediately to the last post in a thread. At least do way that I've found yet.

There was with the previous version.

It kind of clashes with the brown borders on the sides, but otherwise it's okay.

<--- It's animated at the side of the post there for you? Strange. I uploaded it about three or four times already and inside the profile it's fine, but in the topic, at the side of the post it's cut (only half of the worshippers are shown) and still for me.

DEFRON's avatar is animated for me.

BTW, I just found a major issue when posting this. I did a quote, then wanted to edit a previous post and past the quote in. But I cannot past into a post. That is really not good.

Not animated for me. Is it the browser? I'm using Chrome dev channel.
