Your avatar isn't animated, at least not for me.

This is what happens when you combine local caching and images hosted on a CDN. It creates a horrible experience of trying to poll the latest version of an image. We never had the problem on the old system where avatars where linked instead of hosted... It's also what lead to avatar outages for a good number of people a while back, but not everyone

Not animated for me. Is it the browser? I'm using Chrome dev channel.

It has nothing to do with browser, beyond the local cache, it has everything to do with nginx and any third-party CDN being used by bethesda.

The Bethesda engineers appear to have activated their Frankenstein machine because all the avatars are coming to life!

(They are animated now)

Eh, who knows. They're still not working for me. Maybe it just takes different times for different users. I'm not too fussed anyway - I just wish they were a little bigger.

Looks pretty good.

There's one thing that I really really think should be added though. In the text editor where you... write anything, there are tags/snippets/insert image and such. There really should be a spoiler tag there. It's such an important thing.

I completely agree with this!

Digging the new look. My only problem is I miss seeing who is viewing a thread. Other than that, consider my boat floated.

it's nginx, which is the server used to host the images. It's being used in a reverse proxy configuration to split the load over multiple servers, and the images aren't always synchronized. It's incredibly annoying, but such is the downfall of nginx.

I was pretty much in love with the previous look, it was probably the best forum I've come across.
So, I'm not exactly thrilled with this change but I'll have to make it grow on me I suppose, it just feels so cramped right now though.

To mirror earlier complaints, I wish the font wasn't so small. I have to lean in to read stuff proper on a 27" monitor. Also the join dates and "Who's online" etc.

Will we ever get a posting area that's as wide as the screen allows, or does it only ever get ~80%? :confused:

Other than that, it's no worse than the last, I guess.
