I don't want to sound racist but I think the Redguards voice is a bit of. On otherwords. It's strange that a white person is voice acting as the redguards..... What about you?

I know but in Oblivion they were voiced by an african American and their skin is dark so I figured It would make sence for them to have an african like accent. and I heard their culture is based on Morocco. Atleast they should have an Arab like accent,

In Tamriel they are dark-skinned people. not african-americans.

They are red-guards, why should they have african-american voice?

Maybe it depends on where your from, back home black and white sound the same, so not a biggie for me. If all the other races can be done by that one guy doing his best "other person" voice and every single race can have enough accents to cover several continents I can live with it.

I'm not saying they should have an african American voice atleast they should not sound white. After reading about their culture I think they should of had an Arab like or Native african like accent.

Maybe it depends on where your from, back home black and white sound the same, so not a biggie for me. If all the other races can be done by that one guy doing his best "other person" voice and every single race can have enough accents to cover several continents I can live with it.

Ofcourse it's not a big deal for me. I'm just want to see other people opinions on this.

I Thought this was weird too and come on Lifts-her-tail lets me be real redgaurd DO in fact equal black/african/african american. They are drawing from our real world experience of race just like what they do with nords and imperials (ie. nothern european and roman)

Well yeah, I know where you are coming from but we need to understand that in that universe there is no arab people or stuff like that.

They look Arab just because they live in a hot-dry zone and they need to use all those clothes in their head but they talk just like that. Guards speak like germans but thats because that's how they talk not because they are germans since Germany does not exists there xd

To say that Redguards only have darker skin is ignorance. Most of them are modeled after people of African descent. They have the tell-tale hair and facial features, not just darker skin.

They just happen to have those accents but there is no Europe or Africa in there.

That is true but the thing is they are inspired by Morocco like culture which is based in Africa. They should of have an Arab like accent in that case. I mean it's weird seeing redguards in those N'azir outfits and sound like they are from the northern american white person.

But to advance your point, TES hasn't exactly been consistant with any of the races, ever.
Voices of dark elves have always changed (most noticibly). Types of Argonians and Khajiits have never been consistant. Khajiits were just normal people with cat genes or something in Daggerfall. So yeah, Beth pretty much just does whatever they feel like. No logic behind it.

please stop deceiving yourself. you're talking like a naive child right now. listen they are using real life races as a base line for their fictional races. The redgaurd races are based off all the african cultures from this world (earth).

Thanks for agreeing. Still It was just a small thing though. I am pretty sure if the next game is in Hamerfell the redguards will have Arabian/native African accent.

I know but demanding a black person to do a black character voice in a fantasy game is beyond me since is a FANTASY game.

That's like putting a race with Asian characteristics and using a Caribbean voice, would it be weird? yes but that's the point, in that universe there is no Asian people nor Caribbean, that race mix those characteristics to create a character in a fake universe.

Not trying to go against your point just saying that the point of fantasy games is that, fantasy; otherwise we better start putting real races in the game.
