It means you know who to slaughter! Will the dragonborn be capable of defeating an entire pack of werewolves? we'll see :toughninja:

I can't say 100% because footage was low res live streaming stuff I saw, but it looks like the player sort of hunches over in an animation and fades out while the werewolf model fades in. It's not a morph target but simply an alpha fade out/in of two models. Looked good enough for me though. Much better than a cut scene like morrowind.

So the werewolf model just fades in over the original player's model...hmmm.... certainly not what I expected but if you say it looks good enough guess I'm gonna have to take your word for it.

Transformation is a full on transformation, everything you would expect and a little more. You start growing fur, hunch over and double in height/size. All in real time.

No, not really. He didn't explain it very well. From what I saw, it completely shocked me. It was much more involved than a simple alpha transparency trick, I can assure you that. I also screamed like a little girl in excitement. And I already knew about them.

Edit: Eatenbyadragon got it. I didn't see the fur thing, but I definitely saw a transformation, not a replacement.

On the contrary, I can only speak for myself, but I would be kind of mad I didn't know bout it at first. I will be actively pursuing it with my character, who is planned to be a mage. If I didn't know about it, I would ignore the path that turns out to lead to it till near the end of my play-through, only to find out I could have been a werewolf the whole time. It svcks for bethesda, but it for me, turns a "You mean I could have been one this whole time?" moment in to one I'll enjoy because I know about it and can pursue it.
THIS! x900000000000!!!

I would of been pissed to discover them end-game or something.
And now atleast I can plan my characters knowing they are in.

Not only that but,Bethesda just got 2 more pre-orders from two of my friends I told in real life that they can become Werewolves.

I wish it had happened defferently, with an official annoucement, but I'm very happy I learned before the game came out about the Werewolves

I can confirm that there's only a 3rd person view when playing as a werewolf. You won't be disappointed though, it's bloody amazing!
The transformation animation is sweet too, Van Helsing-ish. You can transform into a werewolf whenever you want but only once per day.

Oh and the animation of the werewolf itself is superb too!

Spoiler

You can eat humans as well. It 'extends your bloodlust' and heals you.

Awesome. That sounds even better. I knew Beth wouldn't go for a cheap fade in fade out animation!

So the way you guys put it seems this transformation animation looks kinda like this:

Too bad I missed that video you guys have been taking about. Anyway, can't wait to see it in-game.

I agree, when I didn't know they would be in I didn't know what to do besides change my race and play as a vampire character, still good but not AS good.

Now I can go after my main goal from the begining and spend a life time playing :)

Are there still full moons forcing transformation OR is it all 'transform at will'?

[censored] better not be transformation at will, thats plain stupid specially for a NEW BORN WEREWOLF! Maybe after you grow in level as a werewolf if that is something that is in, kinda like being a ancient vampiere how you become more powerful and such but I hope they wouldn't give that power right away

I am hoping for a lunar transformation if anything, hated how they did it in Morrowind, liked the Daggerfall take on it more just hope it will be more spread out, felt like I turned every other night-__-

Ditto...Most definitely ditto...My brother sounded none too optimistic about Skyrim, but when I informed him that werewolves were in and the player could become one, he said that quote; 'That's awesome, and was going to have to definitely check this out for himself'...One more sale for BGS...

In Daggerfall it was you could transform once per day at will, with full moons forcing you into a 24 hour transformaiton where you had to kill someone or suffer a penalty

We know you can transform once per day in skyrim at will, I'm thinking/hoping these two other mechanics from Daggerfall will make it in

I never cared for the AT WILL type of thing, This is suppoused to be a CURSE (tho I think of it as a blessing) and as a CURSE by most standards that means not being able to control it in this case

I will never understand once a day free will type things specially with werewolves.

I want to be like walking down a road at night, forgetting that I am even a werewolf (somehow) than BAM!! OH [censored]!

I should think as a werewolf, egging the beast inside you to come out would be easy, its in there, brooding and waiting for its chance to take you over, its the forcing it back in thats hard, which would be a good IC way to explain only once per day, you can only mentally take the strain of forcing the beast back in every 24 hours. The full moon drives it wild, forcing you to let it out.

Its very much a curse for those days that you have to murder somebody

But the question remains, are there nights (such as when either moon, or both are full) were it forces you to transform and kill someone, like the other two elder scrolls with werewolves did
